It matters hugely to many people, not just kids.

As for cheating, it’s possible to do (entire websites devoted to cheats, cheat codes, getarounds, and so forth).

And I’ve seen really young kids use cheat codes and hacks, so at 11 he may know a lot about it.

One reason game companies crack down on cheating is because of goldfarmers, people who play online games to get online tokens like magic swords, increased powers, and so forth, that they sell in meatworld for real money. It sounds unbelievable, but there are those who will pay $200 for a supermage sword with over 9000 strength points, just to play an online game.

The article is completely devoid of any detail as to what exactly he’s accused of, but hammers home his disability and how bad he feels.

If you have ever dealt with autistic kids, then you know that for some of them, it IS important.

Yeah some people take it quite seriously and its also a way for the game makers to increase play time (artificially) by having weird achivements in the game that makes people replay them.

But I really don't get all the drama around this, he either cheated (in which case sucks to be him and good on MS) or he didn't. MS just needs to show the proof.

Though I have no idea how people would cheat on a console other than through actually moding it, since its a closed system software wise, its not like you can go and install a cheat patch like people do on PC games. But moding it is against the usage policy anyway so again sorry kid...
