I am not a Jew, but I know and sympathize how the Jews felt about this animal. I recall all too vividly, walking to school when I was in junior high, walking by a newspaper sitting in someone’s driveway, the headline in huge bold letters reading “EICHMANN HANGED.” I will never forget that image.
I highly recommend the Gabriel Allon series of books by author Daniel Silva. Allon was modeled after one of the Mossad team whose cover was as a painter. In the book he’s a gifted art restorer and assassin often called back in to the field (after being part of the Munich Mossad team). His mentor and handler is based on this gentleman in the article and credited for bringing Eichmann in. The books are very well written—and very interesting for those who admire the work of Mossad. I thought the Dubai assassination last year was fascinating in the intricacy in which it was carried out.

There was a Readers Digest condensed book that had the story of Eichmanns capture.

You want to know how they got him? Well, the Mossad had a guy that they suspected was Eichmann under surveillance in South America, but they couldn’t make a positive ID. I mean, they had all of this evidence pointing to the guy, but when you are dealing with Mossad justice—ie hanging—they had to be sure. So, they all remembered that the guy always bought flowers for his wife on her birthday, so when the guy gave his wife flowers for her birthday, they moved in and grabbed him...

Read Isser Harel’s account, “The House on Garibaldi Street.” A little tedious in places but it tells the whole story of Eichmann’s “extraction.”
My favorite part was the trainees being told to be standing on a high-story balcony in an apartment building within a certain amount of time, with a glass of water in hand. Break-ins and such of course ensued. That's not what the Mossad wants, they want deception, finesse. The author said he knocked on the door and portrayed himself as being from the traffic agency, which was planning to put traffic cameras on her building to monitor traffic flows. Those hosting the cameras would be paid a nominal fee of course. She let him in, he went to the balcony to supposedly check the view of the traffic, and asked for a glass of water while he was there.
That's why the Mossad is effective. They train their agents to think, and how to leverage people to their own ends. Master manipulators. Unfortunately, that's resulted in more than one successful spying operation against us.

As with pirates, who are enemies of all civilized countries, I have no problem with hunting down Nazi criminals even today. I don't care if he's 109 years old and on oxygen, if there's evidence, we can and should put him on trial in Israel today. Israel didn't exist when the Nazi committed mass murder or conducted medical experiments on unwilling Jewish children? I don't see that as relevant. The actions were legal in Nazi Germany? I don't see that as relevant either. What matters is that the next generation of evil thugs with power (are you listening, Obama, Reid, and Pelosi?) know that they can never rest securely if they cross certain lines.
Both Hungary and Poland would have been able to hang him, even if Israel were not the successor state to the British Mandate of Palestine.

To label Eichmann a "dirtbag" is a horrible insult to dirtbags. Eichmann was a mass murderer who deserved EVERYTHING he did.
