Where’s Al Gore to warn us that extreme weather of any kind is a sign of global warming?

Everyone in the storms path should be forewarned.

I'm right at ground zero here in Central lower Michigan. I'm ready for it. Just hope we don't lose power. I have alternate heat and lights though...

Minus eight degrees here in the People’s Republic. However, the good news is that it is supposed to warm up to three degrees, that is, about 45 degrees below normal.

The idiot liberal in the cubical next to me confidently advised me yesterday that global warming was causing the heavy snows. She said that it was because of all of the glaciers melting.

Some jokes just write themselves.

It’s coming right at us, looks like we’ll be in the middle of it. The wind is howling.

Indiana and Illinois got a good shot yesterday too that missed us. Ain’t gonna be much fun there.

The Weather Channel is pretty much ignoring New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. and acting like only points east of St. Louis are in trouble.

Yep. I’m feeling some that global warming, or climate change, here in Albuquerque. Schools are closed, ice on the roads. Cold day all around.

(Could be worst in 40 years)

In what sense? Area covered, I guess? Certainly not in terms of total snowfall depth, cold, ice, wind, duration or any of the other things that can define worst storm in a paricular location.

Don’t worry about a thing. With union snow plow operators you will hardly notice.

Travel warning

The federal government has issued a travel warning due to the cold weather.

They suggest that anyone traveling in the current blizzard conditions

should make sure they carry the following:

- Shovel

- Blankets or sleeping bag

- Extra clothing including hat and gloves

- 24 hours worth of food

- De-icer

- Rock salt

- Flashlight with spare batteries

- Road flares or reflective triangles

- Full spare gas can

- First aid kit

- Booster cables

I looked like an idiot on the bus this morning.
