Thanks for that reply. The other part of that question was (in my mind) whether or not the magnetic shift constant is pushing pacific currents further south.

Well with all the hub-bub from Mooschelle regarding obesiety... by WEIGHT of course...
What’s sad is that this is satire, but its sorta hard to tell that it’s satire...

Precisely the problem. We have experienced more moisture in the US then typical from this La Nina. Bastardi also thinks it got colder then normal in the US for a first year La Nina.
We're also in the opening years of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation negative phase. From what I've read it's 20-30 years for each half of the cycle. So combine the slowdown of the Gulf Stream with a negative phase PDO, decreasing earth magnetic field, and a quiescent sun and you have the potential for a LOT of cooling.

Do not know anything about the Magnetic North Pole shifts changing water currents in the Pacific. Would assume that the only mechanisms would be changes to the atmosphere which would affect the atmospheric winds. Those winds can change surface currents. Perhaps there is also a possibility that the Arctic Ocean itself is being affected, but water current flows between the Pacific and Arctic are somewhat restricted.

MS is our home, and we’ve been away for far too long. ;o)

I threw it out there as being a point of wonder. Thanks for the Kaku reference, what a guy!

Since we know about snow loads now, from having lived up here all these many years, we’ll build for that. ;o)

Wasn’t it in 94 that we got almost 2’ of snow the Monday after Easter?

No, though I did invent the spelling. I stole the word from Eva Gabor on
Green Acres.
I spelled it the way I did to evoke icicles.

Freepers do rule and you are a smart ass freeper after my own heart. Loved Green Acres. Watched it when it wasn’t a re-run.

salinity levels have been changing in the atlantic so perhaps it is occuring in the pacific ocean too.

Yeah, it’s funny. From 1800 to 1900 it was looking to go out of bounds. Now when everybody’s in a frenzy, it’s runnin’ home to mama, the geophysical pole.
