Netflix streaming recommendations?
My unused bandwidth ^ | 2/08/2011 | knewshound

I know that a lot of fellow FReepers stream Netflix.

What are your suggestions for movies that may not have received the attention or respect that they deserved?

What are you those gems that are worth watching again?

How about that obscure movie that you tell people they should watch?

Bonus points for links, pics or video of the movie you are talking about.

I'll start;

Firefly - The complete series.

Nothing like a good old fashioned cowboys in space series.  Excellent cast, tight writing and a fan demanded ending.  Highly recommended.

Zombieland

Guns, zombies and jokes.  What more can you ask?  The normally nauseating Woody Harrelson at his redneck best. And seat belts, remember to wear your seat belt.

Centurion

A Euro production that got little notice in the States, it is one of the rare Romans vs Barbarian movies that actually makes you root for the Roman.

Well, those are the first few, what is in your instant queue ?

Cheers,

knewshound

Doc Martin is great. They’re shooting another season, hope it’s streamed soon.

I liked The Hogfather.

If you haven't already seen it, I recommend another work based on Terry Pratchett's novels, The Colour of Magic, it's a two parter.

Also check out “Coupling” if you haven’t seen it.

It is hilarious.

Take a look at A Very Long Engagement, a French film.

It has something for everyone, beautiful cinematography, war, love, sex, revenge, mystery.

Enjoy it before Netflix’s business model explodes, as it will. Sooner or later the ISP’s will no longer tolerate Netflix and others tying up the broadcast spectrum for nothing.
Sooner or later the pricing structure will have to change and that $8 or 9 a month you are paying will be going up to around $25 to 35.

Thanks for the link. I never knew about this site. I totally agree that Netflix could do a much better job with their website.

Every few weeks I go to this site and click “new”. You can then look through everything they’ve added to streaming for the past several weeks easily.
