Yup, it proves they really are deranged.

I’ve never seen a politician drive so many people crazy.

Her inherent goodness and tender Christian heart drives those with evil souls and a malevolent nature to expose their true hateful character.

Darkness cannot stand in the light.

And there are some real dark hearts here on Free Republic.

Those people could help shave off votes from Sarah Palin so the annointed RINO wins again like McCain did in 2008.

Palin could prevent a Bachmann or Cain from winning and end up losing to Obama because her negatives are too high for her to win.

I don't want to see that happen. I want the most conservative candidate with the best chance of winning. Palin has, by far, the least chance of winning among rock-solid conservative candidates.

The top two will share the ticket? Unlikely. That doesn’t happen very often in either party, and has only happened once on the Republican side since primaries started becoming important in the 1950s. In fact, in every election since 1952 other than 1980, the Republican nominee for Vice President was not a Presidential candidate at all, much less the one who came in second in the nomination race.

I don’t see what would make 2012 any different.

That's quite a statement. Have we seen her tax returns over the years to see how tender her Christian heart really is?

ANd Palin is only a rock ribbed conservative in the eyes of her fan club.

Well it proves that her fan club, who spent all of their time the last couple years telling us what an outsider she is, will turn on a dime. Now, they are praising this Dole huckster as the ticket to the WH.

Seek help.

I suggest some prayerful reflection.

You can’t possibly be as ugly as you come off on this forum.

I treat Palin with kid gloves compared to the way Palin fans treat Huck, Mitt, Tpaw, Newt, etc. She’s a politician in the arena, isn’t she?

Yes you are correct but I’m often wrong so I’ll stand by my prediction. It is what Reagan did. Even in 1976, the ONLY man who ever picked a VP before getting the nomination (which he didn’t get anyway). Does anyone remember who that was?
Clue #1 He was a Senator
Clue #2 He was from Pennsylvania
Clue #3 He was a Liberal

Yes, Richard Schweiker. It cost Reagan the support of Jesse Helms and, thus, any chance of taking the nomination at the convention.

And I'll say that it certainly isn't impossible that the eventually VP nominee could be the Presidential candidate who comes in second. It's just hard in the modern age to pick a running mate and extol that person's virtues and qualifications as a Vice President and potential President when you've just finished spending a year savaging that same person in the media.

Besides, with the deep pool of potential VP candidates out there, there doesn't seem to be much reason to pick a losing primary candidate.

Look at it this way FRiend, this guy's track record includes being in charge of the campaign for Dole AND McCain's run for President.

Any doubts how this one will turn out? If Palin were as politically astute as her worshipers claim she is, she would not pick a habitual loser like this.

If anything, I am now absolutely convinced I am making the correct decision to not support her.

As a person, she is a top notch. As a politician and leader, she needs to find something else to do for a change.

He worked for Dole, McCain, appears to have been a lobbyist and says he left his position as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Port Authority two months before 9/11...interesting resume.

Well, apparently, he is only running her PAC, so I’ll cut her a bit of slack.

ANd frankly, a Chief of Staff would be a wildly odd title fora guy running a PAC.

No doubt. I’d be interested to know if he was a registered lobbyist or just did it under the guise of the companies and government agencies he worked for.

It is because of posters like you that I love this place. It’s like Mr Robinson invites a bunch of of people over his place for a big party every day, many of them very knowledable like you! Thank you for that info about Jesse Helms. I never understood that move by Reagan, I was a 22 yr old liberal and it caught my eye when he did it. Showed me he could think outside the box, if he did it today I’d scream bloody murder.

Needless to say, the same media that drove up Sarah Palin’s negatives will do it to any other conservative who would emerge in a primary race.

Sarah stands above candidates like Bachman and Cain right now and is way ahead of the business as usual political operative who has been claiming conversion lately (Rick Santorum).

Negatives can be driven back down with a billion dollar media campaign.

A million of us give Sarah a thousand dollars and she has the billion.

Needless to say, the same media that drove up Sarah Palin’s negatives will do it to any other conservative who would emerge in a primary race.

That assumes that it is just the media attacks that are causing her high negatives and not her abrasive nature. The Mama Grizzly/Pit Bull w/Lipstick isn't the sort of demeanor that is going to win over undecideds and independents.

Palin so overexposed, I have serious doubts her image can be changed. It's going a lot harder for her than most other candidates.
