She has a point. Nothing the anti-gay FReepers can say will make homosexuals go away, nor even make them LESS a part of society and media. I’d rather have them voting conservative than Democrat, wouldn’t you? If you say no, it must mean you hate the person, and not the act. Think about it.
The ACU’s (and thus CPAC’s) roots in gay conservatism dates all the way back to its formation. People (aka sinners) like Robert Bauman were among its founders, if I remember correctly.
Gays have been involved in conservatism longer than FR has existed and no matter what anyone says or does they will REMAIN involved in conservatism. Posts on here telling them to “go vote Democrat” are preposterous.
The Great Ann Coulter is a stalwart of conservatism and even if I conceded she is wrong about gays, so what? She is RIGHT about SO MUCH that it hardly registers that she likes gays or thinks that a RINO like Chris Christie should be the candidate. Just the first 4 chapters of Treason alone give her all the pass she needs to be wrong now and then.
As for the gay thing specifically, she did say she was tired of all the identity caterwauling and I took that to mean on BOTH sides.
And I would add that if we are going to begin carving away possible voters on OUR side for their behaviorial issues where would we stop?? I prefer small cars. You have a big SUV. Get OUT of my political party!
In the end, in 2012, this will be about VOTES—who has them and who doesn’t. Conservatives don’t have the luxury of telling other conservatives to go away. And it’s not as if we are talking about a gay candidate for president. We’re talking about gay voters (actually, conference attendees!).
Now, all the purists can go ahead and call me gay like they did last time I piped up about this matter! LOL

We definitely do not have the luxury of turning away votes. We need them all. We can’t survive another 4 of Obama.
