What percentage of FreeRepublic Religious posts have more than 3 responses? (I bet that this will not be one of them.)

Just curious. A graph would be helpful from someone more capable and less lazy than myself.

"Seemingly, it takes conflict to be dramatically interesting."

Guilty as charged, my main fault is lack of diplomacy.

Sorry, conservatism must stand on it’s own two feet. Liberty is liberty, adherents, of all stripes, are welcome.

Uh, Okay. Why are you opposed to the presence of a forum dedicated to religion then?

Seems to be a stripe of adherent that you don't particularly welcome yourself.

Liberty for me but not for thee?

"Why are you opposed to the presence of a forum dedicated to religion then?"

If you look back at my original post you will see that I said that religion should have it's own venue. I am certainly not opposed to a forum dedicated to religion. Dedicated is, indeed, the key word.

Religious posts on a conservative website just rub me wrong, conservatism is conservatism, religion is religion.

The foundation of Conservatism is Christianity. It cannot exist as a philosophy of governance without it.

It’s a separate forum, gorush. You can block it if you’d prefer not to be exposed to it.

I disagree, but can offer no evidence. I’ve long felt that morality doesn’t require religious belief, still, I was raised catholic and was an altar boy back when the Mass was in Latin. (Now a card carrying agnostic)

If "separate forum" works for you, why not "separate website"? It sounds as if we almost agree.

The foundation of modern Conservatism is John Locke. From there: Voltaire, Rousseau, David Hume, and Immanuel Kant.

That group was made of Christians, Deists, and agnostics. Some, like Kant and Voltaire believed that reason trumped religion, and wrote that there is a practical necessity to believe on God.

Others believed in Christ’s gospel but were very disillusioned with organized religion. The reason Christianity flourishes in the classical liberalism beliefs is because they believed each person had the right to determine that aspect for themselves.

They were hostile towards organized religion, but not towards people believing in it.

Also, can a country be conservative if it is Jewish?

If someone who was unchurched and curious about Christianity started reading those religion threads they would never again consider following Christ.

Allowing you to avoid that which you wish to avoid is one thing. That’s called accomodation. Removing religion altogether from a Constitutional Conservative website would go beyond accomodation and into exclusion.

From a practical point of view, if exclusion were to be practiced, it would be you who would be excluded, since agnostics and atheists are in the minority on Free Republic. But, you’re not excluded, are you? We’re being more accomodating to you, than you apparently would be, if roles were reversed.

Well, at least you understand you don't know what you don't know. Spend a few bucks, learn, and understand why the US is unique.

Exactly. A lot of it has devolved into a “my God is bigger than your God” pissing match without much testimonial on why you should become a Christian.

I’m not proposing exclusion, I just feel that the opposite has occurred.

Are religious sites taken over by conservatives, or is only the opposite that occurs?

Well, in this case the site was created by a religious guy, which being a member of the class of 98, you should know by now. If you want a conservative venue only, I suppose you could quit complaining and create one.
