FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
We should offer what help that we can afford to offer while keeping in mind that we are all but broke.
Hell Yes. They are our best ally.
Holy Christ. Is this what we have come to? People are even asking if we should help?
I can barely believe they are even asking this question. But hey, that is just me.
It isn’t like we don’t have tens of thousands of US military living over there.
Of course we should help!
Officially and individually.
I find it interesting that this question never arose when it was Haiti in need.

Thank you for voting.
Should American forces be in Japan aiding with relief efforts?
Absolutely. We need to stand with pur Japanese friends as long as we are needed. 88%
No. We are facing a budget crisis - we need to look inward before looking outward. 10%
Not sure. 3%
I don’t ever remember this question coming up in the past...and certainly not when the quake hit Haiti. Obama has made a few statements and sent a carrier...but not much else. And no star studded telethons are scheduled to my knowledge. All very odd...I can’t help but think of coverage during the LA riots, of oriental store owners protecting their property against black rioters. I think there may be an unspoken rift between the black and Japanese, making some people’s response lukewarm.
