Great let’s run a guy with zero government experience to win the Presidency Like George Washington... That's why we have a primary system, if Cain has the ability to be the next George Washington then more power to him. Cain's not a bad choice or a bad guy for that matter, but personally I want executive experience.

That's why we have a primary system,

You hit the nail on the head. That's why we have a primary system so that we don't overlook talented, experienced management types that CAN handle the job.

The government is not a magical place. It is an entrenched bureaucracy that needs management. There ARE human beings that have the requisite experience to do an EXCELLENT job as POTUS that don't have previous govt experience.

It's just that usually those people earn way too much or have too much responsibility to their own people to enter politics and run for the Presidency.

Someone like Cain comes along and YES, we can grill him during the primary and see if he's up to the job. But I would NEVER reject him simply because he doesn't have "government" experience. That is a nonsense statement IMO.

Herman Cain is a card carrying conservative. I was proud to vote for him in 2004 for the Georgia Senate and I will be happy to vote for him for President. A few reasons listed below:

1. Herman Cain is not a closet Muslim
2. Herman Cain is not a Communist
3. Herman Cain is a Natural Born Citizen witha Birth Cert.
4. Herman Cain will act to get rid of the IRS
5. Herman Cain will drill baby drill
6. Herman Cain will sign a repeal of Obama/Boehnercare
7. Herman Cain will act to curb the excesses of DHS
8. Herman Cain will act to control the Southern Border
9. Herman Cain will act to end the welfare state

“My biggest concern regarding Cain is he has an electoral track record, and it’s bad. Worse than Alan Keyes, because Keyes at least made it to the general election a couple of times while Cain couldn’t win a GOP Senate primary.”

That’s an excellent point and I think one of the reasons why Cain has gotten so much attention is because certain pundits and conservatives view him as the “safe choice” for 2012. In other, words he hasn’t gotten the Sarah Palin treatment and if he would run he would be immune from those lines of attacks. It’s a false narrative any 2012 nominee is going to have viscous attacks lobbed there way in 2012 AND they will get the SP media treatment. Anyone thinking this won’t happen because he’s not Sarah Palin is delusional.

I never did reject Cain he’s on my short list:
1. Palin
2. Bacchman
3. Cain
I just prefer executive experience right now, but it’s meaningless really, if Herman comes out and sets the campaign trail on fire and shows me he’s the best candidate I’ll be right there enthusiastically supporting him.

Cool. I support Palin/Bachmann too, just like you. My thought is that we need a good strong bench right now and we'll figure out the order later. It sounds like you are pretty much the same. We're both on the same side, wanting the same things. :0)

I like the guy, but the MSM will make him out to be Clarence Thomas' long lost brother.

No conservative is hated more than a black conservative.

True, and I can also note that no conservative is tougher than a black conservative.

Just saying...

I just thought I would post this now. I sent an email to the Herman Cain camp.

I received a response within 3 hours.

I am impressed.

Bless Herman Cain. I was impressed with his feelings on Planned Parenthood.

Exactly, Palin is a McCain fan and campaigned to reelect the ultimate RINO.

Cain couldn't win a GOP Senate primary.

I wish people would educate themselves about Georgia politics before flinging out this very ignorant rejoinder.

Crossover voting refers to a behavior in which voters who normally participate in the primary of one party instead vote in the primary of another party. The behavior typically happens when the nominee of the one party is a foregone conclusion or when a candidate in one party's primary has an appeal to the voters in another party.
Zell Miller had declined to run for a full term after temporarily filling the open Senate seat when our favorite Conservative Paul Coverdell passed away.

As a surprise to everyone, Congresswoman Denise Majette became the Democrat candidate for the Senate when her only claim to fame was in beating Cynthia McKinney only two years earlier (thus alienating a host of Democrats).

The Republican Primary had two staunch Conservatives, Mac Collins and Herman Cain, running against the milquetoast but "entitled" professional RINO politician, Johnny Isakson.

The Democrats, knowing their candidate had no chance of winning and was despised by many for destroying their favorite "Communist in Congress", decided to crossover (legal in Georgia's non-party affiliated voter registration) to vote for the least offensive Republican, our current Junior Senator Johnny Isakson.

Claiming Herman Cain could not win a Senate Primary sounds suspiciously like an intentional omission of a key fact. He had my vote then and I would not hesitate to do it again!

And that won't be an issue in the open primaries used in so many states (a problem to discuss another time)?

Clearly not. Democrats will have a choice of Obama or Hillary with absolutely no impetus to request a Republican ballot in the Presidential Primaries.

well, a black conservative has to be — I’d just correct that to “a conservative who happens to be black” or even remove the last 5 words.
