A new study claims that President Obama has 28 living relatives who share his Irish ancestry, but some of the newly discovered kin aren't eager to share a pint with him.

In the study, released to The Associated Press by family history website Ancestry.com, genealogists traced the descendants of about two dozen passengers who came to America from Ireland on the ship Marmion in March 1850.

How did ancestry.com verify the birth without a birth certificate or proof of birth?

My brother uses that site and they require it.

Perhaps there was a “presumed birth certificate.”

I had forgot until an hour ago

this is the day where the idiots come out wearing green, putting on fake accents, wanting green bread and green beer thus trying to make themselves think they’re Irish.

Even the real Irish I know laugh at what they call plastic paddies making fools of themselves.
When I lived over there they don’t make fools of themselves or wear their green like here

EEEEEWWWWWWWW. I’m half Irish, and do not care to share even a country of origin with that anti-semitic, racist, anti-American Marxist.

“I really don’t like to claim a relationship to Obama,” Roma Joy Palmer, 66, of Mulvane, Kan., told the AP. “He is not my favorite president.”....

Americans will take anyone's culturally important days (or mere historical footnotes like May 5) and turn them into drunken festivals. Well, except for Oktoberfest which started out that way.

"How did ancestry.com verify the birth without a birth certificate or proof of birth?"

Pelosi deemed him "born".

Except for the protestants in Ulster who wear orange.

The breakdown is like this ~ almost everybody left Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Manx, Scotland, Galicia, Northern Ireland, Cornwall and Brittany.

Yup, they left and mostly went to America, with some to South America, or Cuba, and to Canada and Australia and New Zealand and South Africa. Others went to Europe, and earlier, in Viking Times many were taken away to Scandinavia where they lent those rough people proper red hair and better table manners.

They left and today 90% of the descendants of the children of those lands LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE, and a bare 10% live in the old homelands.

Which is why the Irish in Ireland don't know how to be Irish whereas about 1/4 of all the teaming millions of Americans do.

Fur Shur you can't be more American, or Irish than Audie Murphy (Texas) or Timothy Murphy (Maryland and New York), or their relatives for that matter, and my goodness do they have relatives ~ hundreds of thousands.

this is the day where the idiots come out wearing green,

I believe my wife made sure the kids were wearing orange today. Some of her ancestors were Huguenots who were chased from France to Northern Ireland, then later to Canada. Not much chance of them wearing green today.
