Subway Brawl Over Spaghetti
My Fox NY ^ | 18 Mar 2011 | LUKE FUNK

Posted on 03/18/2011 5:23:19 AM PDT by Gamecock

A brawl broke out on a New York City subway car after one passenger apparently got upset over another passenger eating a big container of spaghetti on the crowded car.

The video was posted to YouTubeand first reported by nyctheblog. The user who uploaded it says that it involved a Brooklyn train. There is no indication of what line it happened and what day it took place.

In the video, which contains profanity, starts with some arguing. Then one woman says, "What kind of animals eat on the train?"

The woman eating the spaghetti responds, "What kind of fat ****** looks like you?"

The back-and forth continues until both women stand up and get in each other's faces. Then the spaghetti went flying and the two passengers start a physical confrontation. Other people on the broke up the fight but the back and forth continues until the video ends.

First time I’ve how women wearing burka’s eat in public.

An utterly ridiculous way to live.

This would be comical if they weren’t forced to live that way.

The essence of “liberalism”:

someone soils their britches, and we all have to wear diapers.

To some, I guess it is!

What we don’t need is another law. When they outlaw spaghetti.......

Is eating on a train considered animal like behavior?

Extra points for eating soup without spilling.

Hey... I’m beginning to smell a big fat Commie rat.

I mean, supposing Kissof is lying about that fourth plane, just looking for an excuse to clobber us.

I mean, if the spaghetti hits the fan, now we’re really in trouble....

I tend to agree. If the woman eating was sitting next to the Emily Post wannabee slobbering spaghetti sauce all over her, that would be a different story. As it was—live and let live would have been a better approach.

Yeah but it was a young black man who was trying to defuse the situation and who protected the white woman.

I've seen all kinds of food being eaten on the subway. Most of the time it just makes me hungry. I once saw a guy gnawing on what looked like a roasted head of a pig. He wasn't bothering anyone, and no one bothered him.

I say, let them eat cake, or whatever...

why say anything? seriously.. unless the woman was flinging spags around the car, why gives a fark what she’s eating. It’s not like she was pinching a loaf or draining herself.

If you are going to live in a nobamaville you need to show some tolerance. If you don’t have that ability I guess going Bronson as in “Deathwish” is an option. However, I suggest leaving the scene to the animals and living your life free.

Emily Post. That’s funny. I don’t think EP would have said “what kind of animal eats on the train?”

I grew up in that benighted city and you cannot appreciate how much I rejoice at the thought of never, ever going back, except for funerals.

Still, this reminds me of when the airlines stopped serving snacks, especially on short flights and people started showing up with take out salads and meals as carry on. The woman sitting next to you would immediately flip the tray open and start on her lunch. Why couldn’t she have eaten that on the ground?

Irrespective of all of the idiotic comments on this thread, of course it is.
There are laws against it as a public health issue and I don’t think that anyone here would want to enter a car after about 50,000 people have been eating in it without cleanup.

Can you imagine the amount of refuse after a day of New York denizens have been eating in it?

One day last summer I took the MARTA train to the airport to pick up my Grandkids when they flew in to visit. There was a young black girl sitting across from me who was eating a burger/fries. I remember thinking how rude that was and all sorts of negative things.

At the airport, I went into the newstand shop to buy some gum. There was the same young girl .... she was the clerk in the newstand and she smiled sweetly and said, “weren’t you the lady sitting just across from me on the train a few minutes ago?”

I said, “yes, and the negative thoughts creeped back in.” Then she said added, still smiling sweetly, “yeah, sorry about me eating on the train,I hated to have to do that, I know everyone was staring at me, but I had finished my shift at the hospital late because of an emergency and just barely had time to get to my other job at the airport and if I was going to eat today, the only option was to grab something to stuff down on the train ride.”

I felt so horrible for all my accusing thoughts about her and vowed I would try to never judge others. We just never know the full extent of the circumstances.
