Nor I.

Once I signed up using a fictitious name to see what it was all about. The first thing they ask is for your email password so they can check out your contacts.

I can’t imagine giving that information away.

And it was not east to get out unless you clear all cookies and browser cache.

The worst thing about facebook is having my so-called friends post tons of pictures of their babies. (As a 27 years old male, I don’t care) So I have them on “ignore” so I don’t see baby pictures on News Feed.

Kinda what I use my FB page for, and also to promote our band, The Graham Crackers (although I’ve created a separate FB page for the band...gots to keep my politics out of it). Gotten into many a heated debate with my lib friends after posting articles detrimental to the ‘one’. I figure if even one person has a paradigm shift when it comes to Obama, it’s worth it.

Pretty much my experience, too. But it's mostly with my sister, who is a flaming lib. Mostly what happens is that I post an article, she whines, I completely own her in a debate, and then she deletes all of her entries. Lately she doesn't bother responding at all, and her rationale is that she shouldn't have to defend her viewpoints - she should just be able to put them out there. Seems I've heard that whiny line of reasoning from her idols.

I think this statistic is like current unemployment figures.....its a figment of someones imagination.

I’ve been on the INTERNET since 1994....and Facebook and Twitter and offshoots have no appeal for me.

So many Luddite Neanderthals here on FR. ;)

Don't think I am a Luddite Neanderthal :) But I have managed to stay off Facebook so far.

Interesting comments, especially comments from people who never use FB but they still know it is the worst of the worse. Who would have thought? No one is better or worse based on their FB use. Goodness!

I suspect there are a lot of people similar to me - set up a profile and tried it a bit. I didn’t find it compelling and after adding casual friends and acquaintances, didn’t like it at all. Too noisy, too trivial and too much trouble to delete my account.

I thought the same. Probably many dormant accounts. The Facebook people likely don't care as they can still claim those members in their numbers.

I’m hoping that one of these days FR will move from 90’s software to something more current. :-)

Then it can be like some car forums where every post has some dancing peppers or bananas.

“Won’t believe you until you show it on your Facebook page.”

Good point...it would be tough to prove...and I don’t even know how to use it.
