Oprah and Madonna belong in the same group. Fail. Both of their schools have failed.

Every time I turned the Network on after she took over and changed it to “OWN”, it was nothing but yukky programing. Her friend Gail and Doctor Odd,were on with their worthless shows. She had endless tapes of the Outtakes from her Show and endless repeats of her Shows.

I gave up after three days and will not watch ever again. They took great shows and they replaced them with crap.

Years ago Oprah’s talk show was down in the gutter competing with the likes of Jery Springer and Geraldo and it was every bit as offensive as those shows. Then she overtook the other shows and became so called “uplifting” and “positive.” Her talk show won out by appealing to women and she did that by being almost exclusively about weight loss (mostly her own weight struggle) and hatred of men. Before she made it big, she did the news and had a talk show in Baltimore but Baltimore actually had the good sense to get rid of her (and this was a station, WJZ-TV, that is known for keeping people many years). It actually turned out in her favor, she went to Chicago and made it big but her early days were nothing to brag about. I’ll take Mort Downy, Jerry Springer, Maury Povich (paternity tests and transvestites) at least they make no apologies about being trashy and going for shock value and they are much more humorous and entertaining.

One was about men who go overseas to find foreign brides.

Yeah, I'll bet Doprah's fan base finds that phenomenon shocking and intolerable.

Quite frankly.....I find it HILARIOUS!!!! I’m a ‘soccer mom’ and have NEVER partaken or her KoolAid. I sussed that LONG ago with her agenda. I hope her ‘network (worth)’ dies into absolute obscurity....along with her penchant for Hermes bags.

You mean the network with the show “Our America” with an episode titled “Praying the Gay Way”?

It started out so promising...

Sorry, but "The Man-Haters Channel" never seemed promising to me.

She got pwned (trolled) BIGTIME by ‘Anonymous’ in this segment. I can’t BELIEVE her producers didn’t catch it. Then , again, they may have let it happen.

Many women and men also adult children have woke up to realized and understand that some one in your life who uses words to be a bully and emotional black mail.

It called being abusive and no one should have to live with or under a person like that!

I used to love all the Discovery Health shows. I especially was intrigued by shows like Mystery Diagnosis. They were really interesting, informative and very well done.

I miss them, especially when I cannot stand one more minute of Wall to Wall Libya or Japan Tsunami coverage.

“I would have thought that Oprah would be alot more on the ball with this project.”

Why? Running a one-hour show isn’t like running a network. If she’s actually running it. I know she sounds like a dictator, but she probably can’t be bothered to do much actual work, which on TV shows even at the level of producer is mostly drudgery. Not that I’d expect her to do actual work, apart from big picture stuff and saying “yes” or “no” to sheets of paper passed under her nose while she’s busy gabbing or whatever. That’s not how stars operate.

Furthermore, all of cable is becoming one big channel, anyway. Or maybe a few big channels. You have either have cop/housewife/operation/pawn shop/pregnancy/celebrity/addiction/eating reality shows, or the same mediocre movies and TV reruns played endlessly. The History Channel barely does history anymore, merely aliens and technology. Independent Film Channel is no longer “indie” and plays less and less films. Sci-fi (pardon me, “Sy-Fy”) plays freakin’ pro wrestling. MTV no music. Discovery barely any nature. A&E no art nor entertainment.

Aside from news, weather, and paid programming stations, only a couple have retained their integrity (in the sense of its original purpose remaining unimpaired, not the moral sense). For instance, so far as I know, Lifetime still plays Lifetime (like “I Was Beaten With a Lead Pipe,” starring Meredith Baxter Birney) movies. TCM, which I assume must be massively subsidized, still plays classic (i.e. old) movies. It’s cousin AMC already fell into the pop pit, although it does maintain an impressive—yet slim—original line-up. Not that said line-up has anything to do with classic American movies.

The point is, OWNs decline into average cable fair was inevitable. Money talks, and the easiest way to get ratings is to do what everyone else is doing.

Have you seen her mistake Drew Brees’ birthmark for lipstick? Someone’s head must’ve rolled for that one.

LOL

Not if you are the subject

In the 40’s on this kind of stuff was thought normal and all families act that way.

It might have been the norm but it sure was not normal way for one to act towards another.

Words are very powerful and can effect ans scar for life and even when one come to realization later on in life this has already been establish or grafted into ones and how they perceived themselves in the world.

Your very reply and name calling shows it comes easy for you to be callous and indifferent.
