I have received notification of email breaches from Kroger, Best Buy and Home Depot so far. They seem legit as they are not asking for any info, just notifying me of probable phishing scams based on these breaches. so how many credit cards got info stolen recently?

Hum? I just got a notice from Target and WalMart.
They said only the emails were compromised.

Well, I guess I ought to hearing from Walgeens soon , or a spammer pretending to be them.

sounds like they all used the same email service.

I was told by ROBERT HALF (a place I’ve sent my resume to) that my email was compromised...

It seemed to be in relation to another company they use - can’t remember the name, sorry.

Best Buy email said a company called “Epsilon” was use for email services. I assume a lot of big companies used this service.

I heard a report tonight that the e-blaster company, Epsilon, sends out billions of emails. They have an extremely large database because so many companies hired them to do their email advertising.

Spam is a four-letter word!

Funny thing: A couple of months ago I was contacted by Comcast and asked to confirm my email addresses. (I have one for family stuff, one for business stuff and another just for my personal stuff.) I spoke to a Comcast rep on the phone to verify the authenticity of the request and did an online interactive session with one of their reps.

They had some email addresses of mine going back 5-6 years (moved to another state) and I had to clear those out. Since I went through all of this with Comcast, I now receive SPAM at all three email addresses, whereas before I was receiving NONE. Grrrrr!

I know one thing, whoever stole this has a LOT MORE than just names and E-Mails. We’re being suckered.

After all, what good is that info? A name means very little in this country, when there are between 10 and 100,000 people out there with the SAME NAME. Obviously, there must be more to it.

We got notices from Citi and Disney World of all places. We don't have a Disney affiliated credit card but did use the Citi card when we booked a trip.

My bad, the trip was booked on a Cap One card so it means Citi and Disney were compromised. Awesome! (Not)
