God bless Wilby. Let him heal and go home again, safe and sound.
Less than one year old is just too young to go.
Aw, he looks like a sweetie. He is young, so maybe they will have some answers.
We will pray for Wilby.
Prayers going up!
Exactly. Prayers up!
I’m so sorry. Wilby is beautiful. Prayers going out.
What a handsome boy! My heart goes out to you as I am going through something similar. Prayers for Wilby on their way!
Prayers up.
Here’s hoping for Wilby’s recovery. Wilby, dear kitty, get well soon.
Prayers
Praying for Wilby to get better.
My Elkie, Anjel, had a stroke three weeks ago. Still can't stand without help. She is also a hard luck case. Found starving to death in RI after having been made to have six litters. Please pray for her, too.
Beautiful kitty! I suspect it has to do with a reaction of something? Some cats get neurological disorders from anesthesia, shots or flea treatments....esp HARTZ. Don’t every use Hartz products on your animals.
For those of you who prayed for Miss Peach...an update.
She is on insulin now and still with us. It is still not settled on the amount, but she has put on some weight and acts fairly normal....takes a claws out swipe at the vet every visit.
She turned 16 on March 1 and her mother was dropped off at a neighboring dairy.
Just said a prayer for Wilby. We KNOW God cares about even the smallest sparrow so I trust he cares just as much for the loved kittehs of the world, too!
While he is very ill, we are cautiously optimistic due to some of the signs we've seen. His routine labs show his chemistry and cell tests are near normal ranges. That seems to rule out toxins and certain infections.
Unfortunately, that likely means the issue is localized in his nervous system, hiding behind the blood/brain barrier. It will be a tough, nerve-wracking 24-48 hrs while his spinal fluid is tested and cultured. Hopefully, something will be detected that can be treated with antibiotics or antifungals. I say "hopefully" because the presence of a bacterial, fungal, or protozoan infection would rule out the dreaded Feline Infectious Peritonitis.
Presently, FIP is not treatable, while the other potential causes are. Again.....thank you all so much.
thanks for the update, please keep us informed.
Prayers for your boy. I lost my beloved boy to a dog we were fostering so I know how it is when they are ill. Please keep us posted.
