Fully automatic guns are 100% legal to own. They just need to be manufactured prior to 1986, and you have to pay the Feds a $200 tax when they change ownership.

"Machine guns are illegal and have been for over 60 years." Nope. Buy the stamp (i.e. pay the "tax") and buy the machine gun. Lots of folks own fully automatic weapons, including REAL assault rifles, machine guns, etc. Not cheap to keep'em fed, but perfectly legal to own (at least by federal law).
