Sotheby’s has people that can authenticate a rare baseball card, as well as mundane things like documents.

I tend to believe you about Trump....he’s the Perot for zero just like Perot did for Clinton.....I am sure there were many freepers and “conservatives” who voted for Perot and gave Clintoon the election....is it going to happen again?.....probably...

It would be nice if the birthers would at least agree on the amount ... other threads say $1 million and yet others say 'several' million.

Anybody have copies of his attorney's fees receipts, or are you simply repeating something you heard or read somewhere?

Not long after Obama was elected, I recall downloading the .xls of Obama's campaign expenditures from the FEC website. The total was about $720m as I recall. Of the total, about $1.2m was for legal services, most of it with Perkins, Coie. That was for all legal services, not broken down by matter. One sixth of one percent.

My conclusion at the time was that the proportion spent on birther defense was probably one sixth percent of one sixth of one percent. No court would grant standing. Nothing much to do for Obama's lawyers.

I'd have to revise my low estimate upward after yesterday. After all, the White House did put Obama's personal counsel, Perkins Coie partner Judy Corley on an airplane to Honolulu to personally pick up the paperwork and courier it back to the White House (were locked briefcases and handcuffs involved?). I'm sure UPS would have done it for far less (albeit at the risk of stirring up another Chinese missile scare — conspiracy morons are excitable, you know).

How do you explain all the other issues he slams Barry on? Whether it’s Libya, China, or his grades, Trump is constantly hammering the Guy.

I am not real big on Trump but appreciate him being a thorn in Obama’s side. Your theory doesn’t make much sense and is lacking in substance. It is simply your opinion.

Does anyone know why Stanley Anns name does not have Obama typewritten in the line above her signature?

BTW, in case you didn't notice, Sotheby's deals in works by long dead artists.

They also verify/authenticate documents, coins, furniture, porcelain, firearms, autographs, paintings, sculpture, automobiles, record albums, time pieces, gemstones, military uniforms, and just about any other type of rare collectible that may grace the auction block. They make the guys on the Antiques Roadshow program look like amateurs. To say they only deal in works by long dead artists is laughable.

That's my fear -

Trump was wild for Hitlery last time - so not sure if he's in league with the clintoone machine or bambi’s

but I suspicion he's a spoiler - and even the majority of Freepers are swallowing the KoolAid.

I hope you all realize that the layers were found in one of the certified copies. The original is up for inspection:

http://abcnews.go.com/images/Politics/ap_obama_certificate_dm_110427.pdf

Shading inconsistencies and layers are normal for a document scanned into PDF Searchable Image.

Sotheby’s has people that can authenticate a rare baseball card, as well as mundane things like documents.

You just don't get it, do you?

With a baseball card, the question is, was the document really produced by whomever whenever, as opposed to being forged sometime later in order to cash in on nutcase collectors' demand for rarities (IMO they deserve to be victimized, but that's just me LOL).

With a baseball card, the question is not, does the card state the correct facts about the player it is of. Those facts are already in the record, and they are any counterfeiter's starting point. You don't need the card to know the player's batting average! You only care that the card was really printed when and by whom it is purported to have been printed.

With a birth certificate, the only thing that matters is whether the document correctly states the facts of the subject's birth, not whether it passes muster as a document. So, we don't need Sotheby's. We need the Hawaii Department of Health. If they stand behind the document, it's genuine, no matter how sloppy the document itself might be.

Of course, in the current case, it's desirable for the document to be as sloppy as possible. That way, Obama can say, see, I really was born in Hawaii, now let's move on to the real challenges facing the country. All in full confidence that the sloppiness of the document will keep the nutcase birfers wee-wee'd up and making idiots of their side and affording future opportunities to revisit the issue and go back to the DoH for future smack-downs.

Do you work there?

Sotheby's skills are simply not needed here.

There's another smaller 'document that was presetned with gramma Dunham's signature as the person who registered the 'live birth." - I notice a ot has benn scrubbed off then net

Yes. That video shows what several of us have been looking at today.
If you work with graphics and particularly pdf files, you get used to seeing some screwy artifacts and irregularities. Many of which are created from different platforms, and different graphic applications, or even different versions of the same applications. For example a Windows user creates a pdf in Word and I open it in Illustrator on my Mac.

But what is hard to accept here is what those irregularities are. Having both Aug 196(1) dates show up in layers, both missing the 1, on what is supposed to be a scanned image, is VERY odd.

I posted my own version of the same process earlier today and got all kinds of hateful emails from people through YouTube. Many f-bombs were dropped. People get all sorts of ugly and hateful these days with little to no provocation. Whatever. Their lives must be pretty miserable.

I submit that The Donald is not but a shill. He played his part well.

I believe you are correct on most of what you wrote. I think this has been the plan for years.

As I've said many times, the question wasn't "why doesn't he release it" as much as "why would he release it"?

This game has kept True Believers tied to pixels and genealogy records instead of spreading the word of his destructive activities to those voters who wouldn't otherwise hear it. This game has marginalized conservatives, as the broad brush is used to paint us all as kooks.

And what has it hurt him? Those who didn't believe the COLB weren't his supporters anyway.

That "$2 million to keep it secret" was a bogus number, anyway, since it included all legal-services expenditures and the three dozen pages of defense filings didn't cost very much at all.

This ace up his sleeve could be pulled at any time. Now it has not only made many people look like fools (even if the thing were a fake) and given cover to The Zero's recent power grabs (by grabbing news coverage), but it has boosted the false-flag spoiler campaign of Donald "Perot" Trump.

It's sad to see conservatives get outplayed in the game of chess, but it's not like there wasn't plenty of warning.

You can see how much the WH loves this circus by the document they released. If they had wanted to truly forge something, surely they could have edited the bitmap, or run it through a scanner to get the chromatic effects right, or made sure there weren't layers left in, etc...this isn't rocket surgery. This is either unedited, or they want the controversy to continue, or--most likely--both.

Seen it many times. That was the first go-round, with the unnecessarily redacted certificate number, no seal showing, and the date barely bleeding through back side.

But where is Toot's signature? I see no signatures at all on this document. (Dr. Onaka's is on the back, but it's a rubber stamp and not visible in this rendition, anyway).

I guess the White House wants to keep the chatter going about it being fake.

Of course, if it isn’t a scan, then they video is barking up the wrong tree. It has already been pointed out that Hawaii sometimes electronically prints digital images onto digital “safety paper” background.

And if there are true aberrations in the print, then the White House really wants people to keep being distracted by this issue.

Nice! Thanks for that additional link.

Soon Glenn Beck will claim that his researchers came up with that on their own. No, wait... Glenn won’t touch this at all because he’d have to apologize to those of us that he offended and called crazy. I just want the truth. 0bama’s digital offerings surely aren’t the truth and Glenn seems disinterested in questioning with boldness, so watching his show isn’t an option any more.
