It’s been a “long time gone” since those “Babylon sisters” left me “Out on the weekend”, “Searching for a heart of gold”

It’s been a “long time gone” since those “Babylon sisters” left me “Out on the weekend”, “Searching for a heart of gold”

And “Everyday I write the book” that “Father of mine” said “I don’t understand anything”.

“Discipline”

“Welcome to paradise” because a “Perfect Day” was “One Bourbon, one Scotch, one Beer”.

If I “Try” just a little bit harder, and use my “Imagination”, maybe I could “let it be”.

When I “Add it up” “Some girls” were “Hard to handle” and others were “Wonderful”

But it’s a “Wild world”, “I don’t like Mondays” and “Me and Bobby Mcgee” need to “Turn the page”.

And “Like the weather” “Changes” come like a “Landslide”

There’s a “Mirror in the bathroom” and “One way or another”, “like a rolling stone” and with my “Arms wide open” I will “Feed the tree”.

When “lightning crashes” and the “Empty spaces” are like “Black magic” you need to “Run like hell”

Now “I drink alone” still seeking my “Personal Jesus” until I “Learn to fly”

It’s “I alone” that can “break on through” without “Losing my Religion” or playing some “Wicked game” to get “Closer to fine”

If I ask “Where have all the good times gone” there is “No use in crying” and I have “No regrets” but still, “Tones of home”

I’ve watched as the “Video killed the radio star” and they “Take it to the limit” till there’s “Tears in heaven” but that’s “Second hand news”.

Time to pull out the “Broadsword” and grab a slice of “American pie” wakeup the “Neighbors” and “Take this longing” to stand on “Solsbury Hill”

To,

“The End”

An evening of social protest with Stephen Stills and Neil Young.

Stephen Stills version of Black Queen is still one of my favorite pieces.

Salsbury Hill -- Peter Gabriel

Losing my Religion -- REM

Never even heard of most of the others, and I dislike the only two I can name. Go figure.

“Solsbury Hill” is Peter Gabriel coming to Christ.

Actually, Solsbury Hill is about Peter Gabriel leaving Genesis.

I thought you were asking for an artist that is common to all...which was a hard quiz...because there is none!

Not even Close

Climbing up on Solsbury Hill
I could see the city light
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
Had to listen had no choice
I did not believe the information
I just had to trust imagination
My heart going boom boom boom
“Son,” he said “Grab your things,
I’ve come to take you home.”

To keep in silence I resigned
My friends would think I was a nut
Turning water into wine
Open doors would soon be shut
So I went from day to day
Tho’ my life was in a rut
“Till I thought of what I’d say
Which connection I should cut
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
“Hey” he said “Grab your things
I’ve come to take you home.”
(Back home.)

When illusion spin her net
I’m never where I want to be
And liberty she pirouette
When I think that I am free
Watched by empty silhouettes
Who close their eyes but still can see
No one taught them etiquette
I will show another me
Today I don’t need a replacement
I’ll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
“Hey” I said “You can keep my things,
They’ve come to take me home.”

I'm going through a Steely Dan phase at the present. (For about the fifth time of my life span) If they aren't the best American band ever, they certainly are the most clever.
