I don't believe in coincedences, not in these contexts.
Who besides me has noticed that as the tea party movement has grown, the necessity for net neutrality has also grown?
And who besides me has noticed how they don't even care about the fairness doctrine anymore?
I know the question I'm going to ask: What is it that they need so bad? What is their driving force here? It has to be the tea party movement. It has to be. If there's anything we should all instinctively know, it's that leftists and progressives cannot withstand the scrutiny of competition. Their ideas don't inspire.
A few of the things I've catalogued around here that are relevant:
The Marxist Roots of Net Neutrality
Leftists Dont Form Public Interest GroupsThey Form Government Interest Groups
The FCC cited 'Free Press' marxists 53 times when it usurped the internet (net neutrality)
We know who's driving the debate. We know the things they usually want. It's a fair question to ask if the tea party movement is the real target in some way.
The FCC chief recently said:
"In my view, while critically important, antitrust laws alone would not adequately preserve the freedom and openness of the Internet"
There shouldn't be any question as to them having a goal, an objective. They're statists, and they use state power to squash those who oppose them. The question is, what is that goal?
How much of today's talk radio is completely reliant on all the good information that so many solely-internet-based news outlets put out there?
Undercutting this information stream still undercuts the tea party movement indirectly, because part of how so many tea partiers know they're being threatened is because someone has actually grown a sense of curiosity and is researching.
Old Media keeps playing Ostrich to the fact that the tea party is Not just Repubs.
Zero has shocked a whole bunch of long time Dem voters and Independents awake. If they cripple the Net there’s going to be Mobs of demonstrators jamming streets in City after City.
I think they did not expect for things to backfire. While attempting to manufacture a movement, another movement rose up against them (the tea party). That has to really suck for them. They have spent countless billions to create and support something that happened for free for conservatives. unfortunately (for them), as with any movement against those with power, the more you try to stop is, the bigger it gets.
That’s what I’m getting at. They thought hope and change was the end of conservatism and constitutionalism. But it wasn’t.
Now they have a tea party movement to deal with, that they can’t compete with head on. And their media is dying, so their smears can only have so much impact.
Given all the things they’ve said(in the shadows of course) it would certainly make sense that this is the real goal of net neutrality.
etc.
The net is an absolute must for me and the information I get and use to develope my own thoughts.
Learning is an entirely different operation today than when I went to school in the 50's and 60's.
Given all the things theyve said(in the shadows of course) it would certainly make sense that this is the real goal of net neutrality.
I would venture to say that it is too late. Conservatism has caught on and peoples’ minds are already made up. With this littel bonus called net neutrality I am afraid that they sealed their fate. I really see the death of the democratic party coming. Right now, they remind me of a fish you just caught madly flipping and flopping trying to survive but in the end he will not. And he will be delicious! (just like 2012 I hope)
tea ping
I believe nearly the opposite. Conservatism will make a mighty stand and block much in the near term but, it’s inevitable we lose. We are on the knife edge of an amnesty that will seal our fate in one act. They are allowing immigration at levels that will in effect very shortly totally offset conservative (primarily white Christian) votes. Latinos who come from countries where socialism is the norm align with the democrats > 50% and have birthrates much higher than everyone. Blacks are racist against everyone and they will be for democrats > 70% because that is who promises them their gravy train on the back of taxpaying (mainly white Christian) citizens.
Immigration + Latino birthrate + Blacks + myriad of other special groups aligning with democrats promising them the Treasury = ?
It will take a miracle for us to maneuver out of this and not lose everything that has made the country what it is.
As to your supposition as to whether the Tea Party is a target, one doesn't have to travel far (if at all) from this website.
The web master here has suffered through repeated attacks from the mainstream media. I remember at one time they were suggesting (which is a laugh) that Mr. Robinson was misappropriating funds. This site isn't some home network; plenty of work and funding is needed to maintain a website like Free Republic. You'll note that there is not one piece of advertising here. Funding is all done through contributors. I for one do not feel like I am being ripped off.
As for the Tea Party, many will recall that in its infancy, left-wing liberal media dismissed it as a group of cranks. Not so now.
Leftists always preach about diversity or political correctness. The idea being that you can be of any nationality, so long as you abide by the rules imposed. Which is not freedom at all.
Anything that deviates from the impassive, monolithic structure of their belief system is a target.
it would certainly make sense that this is the real goal of net neutrality.
But, we already know the enemy. We need to clean out DC and we know who needs a good flushing. I know what I’m doing in 2012 net or no net. Maybe I’m naive, but I think they jumped the shark and now he’s pi$$ed.
The welfare policy needs to change. We are enticing poor Mexicans to come here AND allowing them to freely cross the border. We give them money for food, free healthcare, a place to live...What’s not to like? If we can find a way to cap or reform this program, this will change. The biggest impact will be the birth rate. We now give more money for each child. Why not have more? We are the ones bringing this on ourselves and we must change it. I have faith that we will but who we elect is the most important thing we can do in our lifetime to save our country. The Tea Party knows this all too well, the other side...not so much. I was very worried until the WI judicial election. The unions poured in a ton of money, they canvassed neighborhoods, bussed in voters and still managed to lose. This event gave me hope. I was ready to give up before that but that really showed me how far we have already come. This was just the beginning. Please do not lose hope, that is what they want.
Yes. Without net neutrality, the grassroots Tea Party movement might find it a bit too expensive to operate online in competition with the well-funded Soros sites.
So you think the marxists want net neutrality so so so bad, to protect the tea party movement?(and online organizing)
To protect new media?
No, those who want to get their message out without having to pay the telco tollbooth support net neutrality regardless of political persuasion.
Yet with so much marxist support, what tea partier or constitutionalist would ever think net neutrality is said golden ticket?
Rationally speaking, the obvious conclusion is that this is the final nail in the coffin.
At least there are real fighting chances against the telcos.
Nobody can defeat the government. I’ll take 50/50 odds over a death sentence.
Because they support other things does not make net neutrality Marxist in itself. Like I said, if they suddenly went pro-life, you'd have to think pro-life is wrong. The Pink Pistols is a gay organization dedicated to the 2nd Amendment. Is supporting the 2nd Amendment now wrong?
Learn to separate the issue from the ideology of some of its supporters.
Net neutrality was invented by a marxist.
By definition there can’t be anything in it other than marxism.
————Like I said, if they suddenly went pro-life, you’d have to think pro-life is wrong.-————
Did a marxist invent pro life? If you can’t answer that question with a yes, then you are wrong.

Did marxists invent the second amendment? If you can’t answer that question with a yes, then you are wrong.
————Learn to separate the issue from the ideology of some of its supporters.——————
The issue isn’t it’s supporters. The issue is who’s in the drivers seat. Nobody in the drivers seat is for freedom, and the drivers are only listening to marxists and progressives.
No, net neutrality is the state of the Internet without telcos clamping down on services and protocols. The question is who wants to keep the Internet open? You certainly don't.
