Former Rainier school employee (Police Officer) charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse

A former school resource officer at Rainier Junior/Senior High School was charged Monday with 40 counts of sexual abuse, all involving a single victim now 22 years old.

The crimes are alleged to have taken place between 1999 and 2006, according to Columbia County District Attorney Steve Atchison. The alleged sex acts occurred before John Lawrence Hinkle joined the Columbia County Sheriff's office as a full-time deputy.

Atchison said the prosecution will present its case Thursday to the Columbia County Grand Jury, which will determine if more charges will be filed against Hinkle, 47, of St. Helens.

The allegations came to light after the Oregon State Police began investigating Hinkle in early 2010 on an unrelated allegation of sex abuse involving a former Rainier High School student, Atchison said. He said that investigation remains open.

I live in nearby Cowlitz County, Washington. Rainier has had its police chief, Ralph Painter. murdered in January. A young man named Daniel Armaugh Butts has been indicted for the crime and is in jail awaiting a hearing in July for fitness to stand trial. If found guilty, he should get the death penalty.

As for the sex abuse charges against John Lawrence Hinkle, he should be in prison for a long time, maybe the rest of his life if found guilty. The scumbag who did these crimes (assuming the sexual abuse was actually done) doesn’t deserve freedom again.

Columbia County, Oregon is likely to have two emotional criminal trials this year that will get plenty of coverage on Portland TV stations.

No doubt, but then again the old boys club is there protecting the public schools.

If people were aware of the extent of the problem in the public schools, heads would roll and people would be pulling their kids out and homeschooling them.

And we all know how the public eduction establishment would like that.

In effect, the silence of the MSM in this regard is no different than the silence of the hierarchy of the Catholic church concerning its abusive priests. There's really no difference there.

Oregon State Police detectives arrested John Hinkle in Woodburn, Ore., on Friday evening on suspicion of rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and another sex crime, according to news releases from OSP and Atchison's office.

Hinkle is in the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.

The allegations came to light after the Oregon State Police began investigating Hinkle in early 2010 on an unrelated allegation of sex abuse involving a former Rainier High School student, Atchison said. He said that investigation remains open.

According to the Spotlight story, the internal investigation found that Hinkle lied under oath in a trial, lied to a judge about why he was late for court, issued a citation without probable cause, used profanity in uniform and threatened to take a man to jail if he didn't stop talking.

THIS GUY IS A MENACE AND NEEDS TO BE LOCKED UP FOR A LONG TIME.
