A New Hope math teacher pleaded not guilty to the sexual battery of a 17-year-old student Tuesday after she was indicted by a grand jury.
Katherine Robbins, of 4097 New Hope Road in Lowndes County, had been on administrative leave since allegations surfaced in March.
Robbins, who is married with two young children, is accused of having a sexual relationship with the male student over an extended period of time, according to sources at the school.

Not Guilty.
Guilty of “dingbat”, however.
I’m sure her children and husband would disagree with you.
Pretty good mug shot.
Definitely Not Guilty.
So renders the court.
True, But I feel sorry for her family.
I simply don’t think a 17yr old of sound mind
can be unlawfully taken advantage of sexually.
Call me crazy but someone old enough to enter the military
is old enough to have any sort of encounter they want.
People have gone nuts IMO.
Of course, a teacher should be FIRED for this sort of
crap! Taking advantage of a position of power...etc..
just not cool :-(
Not guilty ping.
A good mug shot to boot. Giggety!
Based on the Newt Gingrich factor, not guilty. Newt graduated from high school in 1961 and married his high school math teacher in 1962...But whose to say anything was going on before he graduated? It’s too bad this one is married. Based on what happened to my best friend and his wife, she probably became more and more distant from her husband and kids as her affair with the kid progressed.
Not only is she not guilty, the state will have to pay damages for unjust prosecuting.
Agree 100%
Based on this article, the student already has a child of his own...
Very good mug shot - not guilty
I was born too soon.

There was a teacher in the Leander ISD who got caught texting and sexting one of her students and was arrested yesterday. I haven’t asked our friend if she knows her. The thread below has another such story.

However, a 17 year old and those younger can lie and often do. It is easily conceivable to me that the HS girls may have started rumors because of the way she hugged the boys and that this boy took advantage of the atmosphere to brag that he was, in fact, having an affair with her. She could be innocent.
Several years ago I was in a Denny's and a group of young boys was in an adjacent booth talking. One was bragging that he had had sex with the mother of a friend they were all familiar with. Just from his general demeanor and way of talking I was doubtful he had ever had sex, period. As I left I told him he ought to be ashamed of himself. I said even if it was true, which I doubted very much, he should not be talking about it and ruining the reputation of a probably very nice and reputable woman.
Teenage boys brag about stuff they never have done and could never do all the time.
According to the “experts”, supposedly seventeen year old males will be traumatized for life by having sexual with a beautiful older woman. That does not square with the reality of what goes on in most late teens/young adult male minds. Yes, the teacher should be fired, but I seriously doubt an average seventeen year old male is going feel anything but sadness that the affair was discovered.
I simply dont think a 17yr old of sound mind

There’s no 17 year old male on the planet that is of sound mind.
I agree. It’s more teacher misconduct than a sexual crime if the kid reaches the age of consent.
I always wonder why someone would feel that a predatory adult of either sex is acceptable because it involves sex. If the adult was just belittling or bullying the teen would that be ok?
It’s a legendary double standard on FR. When I was on my school’s volleyball team during 8th grade, our assistant coach was a male college student about 19 or 20 years old. It was not a secret that many of the girls on my team were hot for him and would find him equally “not guilty”.
