This story makes no sense.

The excerpt makes no sense. The article explains it quite well.

According to his father, the teacher told Frankie that his drawing of the American Flag would offend one of his classmates.

Not hanging it offends far more.

Tell the anti-american spoiled brat to suck it up. If he doesn't like the flag, he doesn't have to look at it. Where's the tolerance? Hypocrites.

The case that was brought before the SJC in MA that resulted in the gay marriage law was brought by an outfit whose chief council just happened to be the president of the Mass Teachers Asoc.

Just something that is never spoken of when teachers are involved.

This is a case where it would be best to use a [snip] and include the following VERY PERTINENT information:

22News tried to contact the Superintendent, Dr. Paul Burnim. He refused to go on camera, but told 22News over the phone that nobody ever told Franklin the drawing was offensive, and said the only reason it wasn't hung was because Franklin was supposed to be doing other work; not drawing a picture. In a statement he said: "Each of our schools flies the American Flag every day. At the Butterfield School, the Pledge of Allegiance is recited by students and staff. And the other schools recite the Pledge of Allegiance at least once per week."

It makes a WORLD of difference to include the school's response.

Exactly. Home-school if possible. In a generation, the gap in success levels should be a factor in future political campaigns.

It won't matter how successful our future candidates are if 75% of the electorate is educated by unopposed leftist teachers.

The fight is IN the public schools, not your living room.

We walk the walk, and have had victories. My daughter started a pro-life club in her public high school. It has 35 members. We and other parents petitioned that the Obama speech not be presented live in the classroom, and we won.

The fight must be fought in the public square. By letting the leftists indoctrinate the masses unopposed, it won't matter how conservative or morally-sound your kids turn out. They'll be outnumbered at the ballot box by progressive sheep.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Let me see if I got this right.....

A drawing of an American flag might offend a classmate, but the classmate who is attending a public school that is on American soil, that American taxpayers are paying for and he living here and attending school here DOESN'T offend him?

Seeing the flag offends him but living in the country the flag represents doesn't?

If seeing the flag of the country you're living in offends you so much, GET OUT OF THE COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!

There is so much wrong with public education these days that it's almost unfathomable....

This is one of those rare exceptions that I think indicate the need to ping the regular homeschool ping list it's so bad.

Keep up the good work, homeschoolers.

The other student was a Jehovah’s Witness, not a Mexican. (this time)

No, it doesn’t, because the school’s response is a made up lie.

I have an inlaw that is in the Jehovah’s Witnesses. He says that leftists use the JW’s issues around flags and holidays to advance their own agendas.

He said that JW’s won’t rise to the flag or celebrate holidays but that they do not care if others do. In fact it is a distinctive and bonds them more completely.

Treason. It's high time we redefine these attempts to define symbolic patriotism as callous insults to instead be aiding and comforting the enemy. This is the second time in as many weeks that I've read that displaying the AMERICAN flag in AMERICA might offend someone. Reopen the asylums and start stocking them with liberals, Muslims and scientologists.
