Anyone ever have a Kidney Stone?
VANITY | 05/15/2011 | NEVERBLUFFER

Anyone ever have a Kidney Stone? I had this excrutiating pain in my side/back area and drove myself to the hospital.

Worst pain I ever experienced. I was like a baby screaming and crying in the hospital. Turns out, it was a kidney stone but the pain came and went in less than 2 hours.

The nurse said it is sometimes worse than giving birth to a child...

Thank you, I am so glad it was a quick one and a small one. I will never forget this experience...

No, but I am fighting a kidney infection. The pain has been awful, and haven’t been able to keep anything down. As soon as I get back home, I’m to be checked for stones. I’ve heard it is as bad as childbirth, but I had c-sections so I can’t equate that.

I get these buggers and they are no fun.
The first one was the size of a adult thumbnail and they had to go up and get it. The pain was unbearable and I was in the hospital for a week. I had sweated so much because of the pain they had a IV in me for 3 days.
Good luck..stay away from soft drinks with caffine and drink lots of water.

If you had ever posted a thread you would know that the FR spiel check does not work when posting.

I used to drink a gallon of milk a day. Haven’t touched it for 22 years.

Is there a ten-step program for that? Do you have to make amends to the cows? :)

Did you pass it or did the pain recede?

I’ve had hundreds of stones over a few decades.

Did your dr. say this was an anomaly for you?

Four-time kidney stone passer. I’ve also had second degree burns over 10% of my body. The stones are a close second in pain.

I keep major narcotic painkillers in my home arsenal (legal oxycontin prescription). Kidney stones tend to recur and sitting in the emergency room in agony while the staff try to figure out what’s wrong sucks. They won’t give you painkillers before they diagnose and I’ve passed stones twice while waiting. I take a couple of oxycontin *before* I leave for the hospital now. YMMV

Pain went away rather quickly. Had a CT scan and they said it passed the tube by the kidney...

Might experience discomfort in other area before it is over they said..

I had kidney stones.... The worst pain ever! I passed out on one stone a few years ago. My Doctor told me to drink one BEER a day and that will help flush out the stones. Haven't had a stone since.baby 1

Yup - you can have all of mine. Im just a stone factory. My favorite position is hugging the toilet like I had too much tequila. I always end up asking for God to take me now.

I've been pleasured with several (about 20) in my life. One large one took almost three weeks to pass. I was in so much pain I vomited several times within that time span. Nowadays the smaller ones just pass with little or no pain.

Haven't had any to speak of since I quit drinking 6 or so diet cokes a day.

I could have written your reply only mine was in 1955. I was restricted to one glass of milk a day. I do not want to go through that again.

Water, water, water.

Keep those kidneys wet!

They tried to get one out of me, up thru the you know what.

Couldn’t find it so the doc puts in a stint. Fail!
when they took out the stint, I was wide awake, don’t go there!
After straining my urine for over a year it came out, HUGH!

I’ve had a couple of kidney infections and wow yes, they are painful. I’m sure not nearly as bad as stones, but it’s amazing how bad they can make you feel. After the first one I learned not to put off going to the doc when I think I’m getting one.
