I realize the source is not the most reliable... yet I can believe that Hawking would say such a thing. I feel sorry for him, it won't be long before he has to ackowledge that Jesus is Lord. But it will be too late for him!

So is Hawking’s “finite but unbounded” crap. I mean, who believes that, really?

I guess he'll find out soon enough whether Hell is a fairy tale.

As someone who hs lived with a diease that could kill me for all but 9 years of my life I am sad for him. I’d imagine somewhere along the line his faith was destroed for him by someone much like almost happened to me. A relative took me to a faith healer when I was barely 10 then when I wan’t cured I was told by the same relative that it must be because I wasn’t a good enough person to recieve healing. An awful thing to say to a child that was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Of course then when her husband died of lung cancer and wasn;’t healed either I didn’t hear that again....

The hand of god is evident in Hawking's continued life and the contributions ha has made. Most good, some not so much.

My mother lived for less than two years after showing the first signs of ALS. It was very hard to find the hand of God for me in that experience. It was only later on when I reflected on her strength thru the whole ordeal that I realized that the hand was there.

I now know what bravery is.

“There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers”

BS

The company I work for buys them and we get stuck with using them - hang on - I've got to throw in another shovel full of coal since my computer is steam powered. (But next week I'll be in tall cotton - we're moving up to Windows 95!).

I completely agree!!! And Amen!!! Truly sad, I have a couple of friends that are atheists. They spend and inordinate amount of time, trying to debunk God, the bible, heaven, ect. If there is no God, and they truly believe that. Why do they spend so much time devoted to trying to debunk it all?

I believe refusing to acknowledge heaven is a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Sadly, hell doesn’t work the same way.

Why would it be too late for him? God knew exactly what Hawkings was going to live to be and think, didn’t He?

“the mental gymnastics you can jump thru are amazing to see when someone tries to avoid God”

It’s not just that. I don’t see why rabid atheists believe in it, let alone calm, rational, well-educated, (supposedly) uninterested scientists.

1 Corinthians 1:20
Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher of this age?
Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

I just finished reading “Heaven is for Real” about (then) 4 year old Colton Burpo. Hawking will face judgment day and will highly regret his disbelief.

Mr. Hawking, if you are right, what have I, a believer, lost? But if you are wrong, what have you lost?

Maybe for the same reason people spend so much time trying to prove there is a God and their beliefs are correct?
