This is a terrific test. And it shows results in a number of ways. It sure indicates that the majority of Americans don't know what's going on. No wonder our politicians take such advantage. Interesting and simple test. It’s astonishing that so many people got less than half right. These results say that 80% of the (voting) public doesn’t have a clue – and that’s pretty scary.

I got 87% right in that quiz. My weakness is economics. Sigh...time to hit the economic books!

Although I got it right, I think that that was a question that didn’t belong in the test. It is simply too trivial. You would have to be a compulsive reader (me), or a daytime TV watcher to have a high probability of getting it right.

I got 27 of 33 right for 81.82% vs a National average of 49%. Pretty scarey. More private citizens score well on this test than do elected officials, by a rather significant margin.

Cool stuff, and much more detailed than the first quiz on this thread, which is pretty much 5th grade silliness.

8^D

you did better on the quiz than 98% of the general public

This country is in trouble if I represent the top 2%!

Dittos to that. I bet FReepers score most of the top 2%.

I answered correctly 10 out of 11. The question on obesity got me.

11 out of 11
32 out of 33

Missed the one on the Lincoln - Douglas debates. Both were quite easy - just shows how poorly we educate our children today and have for 50 years.

RE: the facebook question - I agree. It was a trivial question. The only reason I got it right was I knew the other three choices were wrong.

I know a 20 year old who asked me if Wyoming is a state. He also couldn’t name the Vice President.

He isn’t stupid, just not educated properly.

The responses to Q8 are astonishingly poor.

Too bad they didn't break out by Tea Party, RINO, progressive, 0bot, etc.

The correct answer is correct. It is basically the definition of average. The total amounts are the same, so the averages are the same (or, two equal numbers divided by the same number result in equal numbers).

The answer you chose confuses debt and deficit. If the government spends the same amount it takes in THIS YEAR, the DEFICIT is zero, but there can (okay, will) still be a DEBT due to previous years’ deficits.
