Thanks for posting this. I have watched this video 5 or 6 times. It is the single best commentary on modern liberals I have ever seen. It explains it all, and it’s interesting and engaging. Sayet is just amazing.

I am Evan Sayet. Yes, the talk was from March of 2007 and I’m amazed how it still gets thousands of views (and powerful comments) a week all these years later.

I thought it was a brilliant presentation.
The only thing I disagree with is that liberals/progressives do believe in something: they believe in Marxism and they think think they are the “elite vanguard of the working class,” women, “people of color”, gays, illegals and whatever victim group you can think of. Anybody can sit in a lecture in a public school classroom(which you mentioned) or a university and know exactly what liberals think and where their philosophy comes from, and what their goal is.
Modern American liberalism has NEVER been an extension of classical liberalism(which is conservatism), but of Marxism.
They believe that there should be a “dictatorship of the proletariat,” which really means in its modern form a dictatorship run by a liberal elite, where we all bow down before them as serfs as they run our lives, because they think they know what is best. The Barack Obamas, the Hillary Clintons, the Keith Olbermans, the Rachel Maddows, the Harry Reids, and Nancy Pelosis truly believe we are too stupid to be free.
But anybody with a rational thought can look at the data objectively, look at the historical record, can look at the measurable results, and come to the conclusion that modern liberalism/Marxism is a complete failure. The elite don’t know what is best for us. The only thing they are efficient at is confiscating our money to enrich themselves and their political cronies.
Not only is it a failure, it is morally wrong, because everything that is a result of the modern liberal/Marxism causes more death, more destruction, more loss of freedom, more poverty, more irresponsibility than if liberalism never existed.
Liberals truly believe that the US is illegitimate, the rule of law is illegitimate, because the US is a historical tool of capitalism to oppress, and the only way to end oppression is to destroy that tool of oppression.
Liberals don’t think there is anything such as an objective good or objective rights or objective morality, because as Marx pointed out, those values were artificially created by a capitalist system to oppress and enslave people.
The principles of the Founding Fathers were compatible with the life proper to a rational being. Libtards think and act irrationally and reject these principles in order to achieve their own vision of utopia which is incompatible with a rational life
It will be fascinating to see how they rationalize support for someone who is calling for Israel to cut itself in half, while simultaneously telling Israel that they will now have to "defend themselves, by themselves."
