That thread was getting too long and I'm really not sure how to respond back to each and every person who tried to help me out!?
According to Virginia Techs 'weed' department .. the weed .. as it turns out is: Black Medic.

Rats!
You will have to spot treat the worst areas first.
Ortho says not to treat over-seeded areas until the grass has germinated and has been cut 3-4 times.
It can be re-seeded in 14 days after application of
the broad leaf killer.
PS Putting any treatment including fertilizer on new seed
usually kills it.

I use "all" in the 'to' box if I want to make a comment on the thread but not direct it to anyone specifically.

You’re right, those pics you took there would make me say black medic.
I got the wrong trefoil, should have said lesser hop trefoil, not birdsfoot. They’re very similar looking.
Still learning my weeds. :-D
