Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf was recovering in California on Tuesday after doctors removed a benign tumor from his brain stem.

If you don’t like your children, just give them a cell phone to use continuously.
They’ll probably be dead within 5-10 years.
Their skulls are softer than adults and more susceptible to the radiation from the phones.
I lived (as many did) thru the episode that was Ryan Leaf for the San Diego Chargers. He is a jerk. Glad to hear it was a benign tumor. Do not wish him that.
What a damned Joke. You don’t buy that anti-capitalist crap about cell phones —do you? Take a pill and go back to reading your gore book.
Cell phones don’t explain his career, they came out too late to have an effect. Drugs probably do though.
He was a pitiful quarterback but the Chargers were warned about his behavior. He took them for a ride.
I wonder if Leaf’s drug use had more to do with the brain tumor or is that the tumor with the drug use?
And to think Indianapolis could have ended up with Leaf instead of Peyton Manning. Yikes! (Awful news about the tumor, though. Thank God it was benign.
I know nothing about sports.
I do know that a properly positioned benign tumor can result in death. The brain stem is one area that comes to mind. Heart and liver also.
It is a miracle that today there are those capable of doing such procedure. Years back, we just watched these people waste away and die in less than normal manner.
Yea, he was an embarrassment to Amarillo/Canyon, Texas where he coached. He developed a prescription drug problem and broke into a player’s apartment to steal Hydrocodone. When he was about to be indicted he hauled but to British Columbia (I think) to go to rehab. He is a classless loser. Jail time would have done him some good and humbled his smart #$% a bit.
He coached after his chargers ordeal?? Whose bright idea was that?
Glad he’s ok.....but he’s still a major loser.
Ryan Leaf got a bad rap with the Chargers he had a bad team. Brett Favre couldn't have saved them.
2) I pray for his recovery, my mother suffered from pancreatic cancer, my brother in law testicular cancer, my grandfather, prostate cancer.
1 out of 3 are still alive...
This has nothing to do with cell phones.
Total BS. My mom never used her cell and my grandfather never had a cellphone and my brother in law who is still alive hardly EVER used his cellphone. If anyone in my family deserved cancer from cellphone it would be me, but as of the last physical / blood test I am A OK.
This is just commie crap to encourage more anti-nuclear energy. That's what this is about.
And if you want to say I have no heart, I lost two close family members to cancer and it had nothing to do with a cellphone.
Tom Brady was something like 133rd in the NFL draft, and Aaron Rodgers got traded from the 49ers to Green Bay for some used soccer equipment and one of Brett Favre's half-eaten sandwiches.
Those stories right there ought to be convincing enough for nobody to pay any attention to the NFL draft.
Just think. It took 35 years to find and remove the only benign part of him.
“...and Aaron Rodgers got traded from the 49ers to Green Bay for some used soccer equipment and one of Brett Favre’s half-eaten sandwiches.”
ROFLMAO! That was GOLDEN, LOL! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Love it!!!
And we laughed all the way to the Superbowl! :)
My grandkids rarely talk on a phone anyway, it is all text messages.
NFL football, not so much.
