Chris Matthews: Not Since Abraham Lincoln Has Someone 'Caused' Strife Like Sarah Palin

According to Chris Matthews, Sarah Palin is the most divisive figure since Abraham Lincoln "caused" the Civil War. In an odd historical analogy, the Hardball host marveled at Palin's bus tour: "Leading off tonight, civil war on the right. Not since the election of Abraham Lincoln has a Republican caused such a war."

The anchor frothed, "Sarah Palin went right to New Hampshire, serving as a human grenade, blowing up his announcement by saying Romney's health care is a total violation of Tea Party beliefs."

It is Sarah Palin's mere existance that's gotten "Tingles'" panties all in a wad. He's obsessed with her. Obvious she's catalytic for disturbing something deeply troubling in his psyche.

We all know what it is--even though he can't bring it out of repression:

Nothing is more disturbing and unsettling than repressed truth!

Nothing hurts like unwelcome truth!

It's Sarah Palin's TRUTH threatening Matthews' REPRESSED DELUSIONS that has him all in a dither!

Relax, Chris! Let TRUTH deliver you from the labyrinth. Sarah Palin can be your Ariadne! Truth is liberating!

If Chris were only intelligent enough to follow this advice, he would find his way into the light--but, of course, if he were that intelligent he wouldn't be stumbling aroune in the darkness in the first place.

Froth away, you irrelevant, little person (I refuse to call CM 'man', as extreme doubt entails in my mind that it possesses any masculine qualities whatsoever). What part of her statement was false in any way?

I bet the sight of Sarah sends a warm trickle down his leg...

Which 'side' of his leg? Front? Or Back?

This irrelevant, sniveling little man is flat scared of Sarah, as are most of the MSM!

This irrelevant, sniveling little man just said Sarah is in the same League as Lincoln. Does he realize what he did?

How’s his tingle doing? Actually, it is Matthews and his ilk who are causing strife with their character assassinations and unbridled attacks. The public is sick of it - and Matthews.

In my post # 55, I was considering Palin or Bachmann in relation to the men in the Republican primary field only.

Naturally, compared to Zero or Biden, either one would make a positive contrast to the Dem in the general election - either as the GOP presidential or VP candidate.

Not since the election of Abraham Lincoln has a Republican caused such a war.

So. Does this little racist pine for peace and slavery? It obviously annoys him that it took a Republican to end slavery.

Somehow, I don’t think that putting Ms. Palin on the same level as President Lincoln is the sort of comparison that Ms. Palin would seriously object to other than, perhaps, to say that she really hasn’t quite earned such a high and distinguished honor yet.

Arguably, Palin's resume is stronger than Lincoln's was. At the time he ran, he had no executive experience. He had served one term in the House some years before but had declined to run again, believing he'd lose because he had opposed the Mexican War. And he had two failed Senate bids behind him.
