Veterans Affairs

It is imperative that America's military men and women receive the support they deserve for the sacrifices they have made. Our members of the Armed Forces have fought to preserve the freedoms we cherish and I believe Congress must be steadfast in honoring our commitment to them.

Last year, I supported the largest increase in funding for veterans programs in theVA’s history: over $37 billion for veterans programs. This legislation also adds more than 1,000 new claims adjusters to help ease the backlog of over 400,000 VA benefits claims. Congress must work to alleviate VA bureaucratic procedures, improve communications between the Department of Defense and the VA and strengthen the process for returning soldiers transitioning into the VA health care system.

Recent post indicated that she wanted to cut veterans' benefits. I wonder if that was a hit piece.

I saw that. The only link to info that she did want to cut, was a six month old story from a veterans group.
Looking on her web site I found nothing to support the accusation.
This info sums it up, she is not interesting in cutting these benefits.

Back in January she advocated cutting $4.5 billion from VA budget for veterans who drew social security and VA Compensation. VFW/AMVETS,etal blew a gasket. She withdrew her plan...Feb. 4 I believe.

This current plan really does nothing but add more bureaucrats to the mix...

At least she’s responsive to input from her constituents. The 2/4 withdrawal you mentioned is on her website.

Not to beat a dead horse, but methinks the pressure (quite intense) from Legion and other vet groups was decisive in her decision to withdraw, rather than “constituents.”

Good for them. We won’t abandon those who took care of our country.

BINGO!

This is what Bing brings up on her farm subsidies. Some are from news some from blogs and leftist sites. Do your own reading and learning.

You google her VA plans and you see the same pattern.
