CHARLESTOWN - A police officer shot and killed a dog at a Narrow Lane home this week, and its owner is challenging the police department's account of how the animal died.
Police Chief Jack Shippee said Patrolman Robert Petrocelli was dispatched Monday night to the area of Route 1 and Narrow Lane for a report of a roaming horse in the roadway. The officer did not find the horse, but responded to its owner's home at 210 Narrow Lane - a property mired in zoning disputes and the focus of animal welfare concerns.
"The officer went to the residence and as he was walking into the yard, the dog came out of the house growling and barking," Shippee said. "It continued onto the steps of the deck, and charged off it, showing its teeth."

Everything frightens cops.
It's why they became cops.
My father was a career police officer, died in 1992 at the time he was a Texas Deputy Sheriff, before that he was Chief of Police of my City from 1976 to 1989, even at the peak of race riots and bad stuff he would never have violated this oath. Now the police aren’t our friend, or anyone to trust.
And I ride a black horse! Haha

Cops know the great thing about killing someone with 70 shots is that they can’t dispute their story. And if they wind up being unarmed, you plant a ‘ham sandwich’ on them and there ya go.
And I know how cops can be. Had a couple in the family for over 20 years.
It’s because there is a difference between a peace officer and a law enforcement officer. Or SWAT thug.
Well, that's a good question and a good answer. The dog owner here isn't a very sympathetic character. His credibility isn't very good.
Now the police aren’t our friend, or anyone to trust.
It's sad to say, but it appears that there are plenty of bad apples. As with anything, all police are not bad, such as your father.
I had a neighbor at one time who was really disruptive, getting totally drunk and acting out while doing so. I'm not one to call the cops at the drop of the hat, I think neighbors should try to get along as much as possible and resolve their differences first.
Anyway, I had to call the cops, he was drunk and called the cops also. They came to my door, and I invited them in. They said no, I asked them why not, they said "I wouldn't want you coming into our house." He wasn't being a jerk, I felt that they were being respectful. They funniest thing was when they knocked on the neighbors door; he wasn't answering. Finally, he answered back, "Who is it", and they said, 'it's the cops you @$$h0le, you called us.' I was in stitches.
My wife was a meter reader for the gas & electric for over 25 years. She went onto HUNDREDS of properties PER DAY. Many of them had dogs. Some tied up, some not. Some let out loose after it was clear she was on their property. She wore a blue uniform and had an ID badge. She never shot a dog. Now, granted, she wasn’t allowed to carry a gun. She did have pepper spray. I’m not sure if she ever used it, but if so very seldom. I know she was tempted to use it on some people.
The point here is that my 5 foot 3 inch wife wasn’t afraid for her life from DOGS. Yes she got bit a few times. I’m sure that had she had a gun, she would not have killed any dogs.

Thanks, yes these days are trying for good men, but they are out there. I don’t want people to ever think it is ok not be respectful to anyone including a police officer. But until they clean up their brother and sisters in blue, people start thinking we have BROWNSHIRTS out there instead.

This is one (I have many) reasons why I don't like the United Nations and the concept of 'global citizenry'. If all nations are controlled by the UN or some other global entity, who will control them?

I just didn't realize that if you aren't a "very sympathetic character", the donut munchers are allowed to go on private property, kill your pet and basically disregard private property rights.
I guess the not "very sympathetic character" was lucky. He could have been home, "popped" out, been in possession of a 'stolen gun' or his own firearm and been lit up for scaring the donut munching dog killer.
I bet he's upset because he didn't get to go full auto, breach a door and put on the old balaclava. Cause playing dress up is so much fun with your buddies.

Sure. Staying out of the yard and calling to the owner first could have been tried too. This cop didn't try very hard.
That is why my house doors stay locked & my gates padlocked. If they climb them when I have bells & signs I will sue..However it won’t bring my beloved pet back.
