I agree...a weekly fitness and nutrition/goal thread would probably do many here a lot of good. I am definitely not the person for the job (not well-known here and am not a frequent poster) so maybe someone else can step up and start it...I would be glad to throw in some advice here and there, though.

Sorry to hear you and your wife are going through a difficult time. We will make mention of you both in our prayers. We appreciate you and all that you do.

Here’s an article on reversing type II diabetes, a medical document, not some quackery.

http://www.diabetologia-journal.org/Lim.pdf

You can do it man! I’m telling you, Magnesium is the key to staving off diabetes, getting BP down, and protecting your heart.

Loop at this link:

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&xhr=t&q=magnesium+diabetes&cp=15&pf=p&sclient=psy&safe=active&source=hp&aq=0&aqi=&aql=&oq=magnesium+diabe&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=c924775ad1dac27b&biw=1229&bih=900

Magnesium and diabetes.

I am not a doctor, but I’m no fool. They body needs minerals, and their are some key ones.

As for Magnesium, you can do way, way better than Capsules or Tablets. And I agree wholeheartedly, no calcium.

CALM Magnesium is powder form, you put a teaspoon in hot water, it disovles perfectly clear, and you drink it, it’s in your system instantly, highly, highly absorbable.

You can get this at Whole Foods stores or order it online, I take it every single day. Magnesium is not for those with kidney issues (severe).

Pubmed says it over and over again ...

CONCLUSIONS:

Our findings suggest a significant inverse association between magnesium intake and diabetes risk. This study supports the dietary recommendation to increase consumption of major food sources of magnesium, such as whole grains, nuts, and green leafy vegetables.

You can do it. Be strong, do what you have to do, and you can give yourself the best chance for success. I wish you the best of luck, but don’t forget the old saying, “The harder you work, the luckier you are.” Time to work on yourself for a bit, or else you won’t be around to help others. Be well.

Been there and done that with the herniated disc and the surgery. At the worst point of the sciatica, I used to joke that besides sitting, standing, lying down, or walking, everything else was fine! Surgery fixed me, and I am STILL so thankful I live in an age where doctors can fix a problem like that.

A good softball and volleyball buddy named "Cheese" who was around 78 years old, widowed, had many young gals as girlfriends, drove a hot mustang, admitted to not having been to a doctor in years since he felt healthy.........

His last trip to Fla.this past March with his latest hottie along for the ride, resulted in him immediately turning around and returning to Michigan because he wasn't feeling good.........A week later he went to his doctor for some tests, two weeks later he was hospitalized, a week after that he died. Our entire softball community was devastated. He had developed cancer which had spread throughout his body and he didn't even know it......

A doctor is your best friend at our age and regular checkups are mandatory........

You are in my prayers man. To help with the blood sugar, eat every 2 hours. Small meals... much smaller than you would normally eat. I go for carrots, apricots, raisins, any fruit really. I might mix in a meal shake if I am on the go. Also increase your water intake. Carry a bottle of water everywhere you go. These things will help to level out your bloodsugar because you are giving your body small constant stimulus instead of bid carb laden meals which will fill youup, but also cause your blood sugar to go haywire. Candy will whack your blood sugar out as well.

I hope things have gotten better for you!!

Hello 2nd Division Vet.

Exercise and lots of little meals — no sugar, no salt, no garbage food, little to no alcohol is the way to improve your health immediately.

A good night’s rest is crucial.

Dear Lord,

Please watch over 2nd Division Vet as he tends to his health matters and his wife’s health.

In Jesus’ Holy Name.
Amen.
