I found this recipe online a couple of days ago. I had a couple of cups of raw almonds (long story as to why) and was looking for a way to use them. Sweet and very spicy, do no waste on children.

Sweet and Spicy Almonds

1/4 c sugar
1 1/2 t kosher salt
1 t (or more) cayennne

1 T water
1 T honey
1 t olive oil

2-2 1/2 c raw whole almonds

Bake the almonds at 350 on a cookie sheet for about 10 minutes. Watch carefully, they burn easily.

Mix the sugar, salt and cayenne in a mixing bowl.

Add the water, honey and olive oil to a large skillet, heat on medium until bubbling.

Add the almonds and toss to coat.

Add the almonds to the salt/sugar/cayenne mixture to coat.

Cool to room temperature on a cookie sheet.
