Jane Fonda's controversy in Vietnam is almost 40 years old ... yet she claims QVC canceled her appearance at the last minute because of fears of protests from disgruntled viewers.
Jane was supposed to appear this morning to promote her new book, "Prime Time." But Fonda posted a blog on her site this morning claiming QVC gave her the boot because "they got a lot of calls yesterday criticizing me for my opposition to the Vietnam War and threatening to boycott the show if I was allowed to appear."
For all you youngins ... Fonda was photographed sitting on an anti-aircraft gun during a visit to Vietnam in 1972. The incident has dogged her for years, earning her the nickname "Hanoi Jane."
In her blog, Fonda went on to say, "Bottom line, this has gone on far too long, this spreading of lies about me! None of it is true. NONE OF IT! I love my country. I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us."
Emails to QVC were not immediately returned.
Lol. Good!
Jane you ignorant slut!
Nobody cares that you opposed the war.
What is unforgivable is that you committed treason in aiding the enemy.
I’m lovin’ it.
I’ll bet if someone told her back in ‘72 that this would be dogging her 39 years later she would have laughed.
Who’s laughing now?
Ah yes. Hanoi, Jane. I remember it well. Boy were we furious. We just wished they’d send her over for a visit with we troops.
Sadly she did much more to endanger and lead our soldiers to death.
Jane
People don’t like you.
Regards,
Millions have been sold!!
We don’t forget, Jane.
There is still a large institutional memory of your intransigent behavior, in the face of peril to our troops. You chose the side you would place your allegiance with, and it was not America.
May that haunt you to your final resting place. But be assured, there shall be no rest.
Ever.
Gee Hanoi Hane, Payback is a female dog, ain’t it?
You see, you trashed us, and now, the penultimate capitalistic organization, QVC, understands that you are TOXIC!
Buh Bye!
And I wouldn’t buy your idiot book for anything.
Sometime TMZ reader get it right this time they get it right they got it just stupid MSN media just don’t get it
You raise an interesting point - where can they bury her?
Unless it’s behind locked gates far away from public access, her grave will become a multi-generational desecration destination.
“Jane Fonda — QVC Axed Me “
Jane, I had no idea that you spoke Ebonics! Right on, right on, right on!
By the way, what was it that they axed you?
Did you know the answer?
Inquiring minds want to know?
Probably not.
For sure aiding the enemy in time of war
Bet she wished at the time she could have fired at American
planes
Remember her at Ft Bragg in the FTA demonstrations
The sorry @@tch should be ashamed for the lives of American
that were lost because of her encouraging the vc that
all they had to to was hold out..turned out it worked
I truly hate this evil woman
Maybe someone who was in the service at the time, or someone more knowledgeable than yours truly can help me out with this. I've heard the story that when Fonda made her trip to Hanoi to visit with her comrades (the NVA of course) , she was taken on a tour of a prison camp full of U.S. military personnel. Supposedly she shook their hands and a few of them slipped her a piece of paper with his service number on it. The reason was for Jane to let the folks at home know they were still alive and were captured. Instead Fonda gave those slips of paper to the NVA guards before leaving. The prisoners who tried to get a message out were subsequently tortured.
The question is , is this a true story or is it an urban legend?
