Jane Fonda's controversy in Vietnam is almost 40 years old ... yet she claims QVC canceled her appearance at the last minute because of fears of protests from disgruntled viewers.
Jane was supposed to appear this morning to promote her new book, "Prime Time." But Fonda posted a blog on her site this morning claiming QVC gave her the boot because "they got a lot of calls yesterday criticizing me for my opposition to the Vietnam War and threatening to boycott the show if I was allowed to appear."
For all you youngins ... Fonda was photographed sitting on an anti-aircraft gun during a visit to Vietnam in 1972. The incident has dogged her for years, earning her the nickname "Hanoi Jane."
In her blog, Fonda went on to say, "Bottom line, this has gone on far too long, this spreading of lies about me! None of it is true. NONE OF IT! I love my country. I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us."
Emails to QVC were not immediately returned.
It’s stunning that this liberal idiot does not understand the consequences of her actions even after 39 years.
Typical libtard.

Hanoi’d with Jane
Claim: Jane Fonda betrayed U.S. POWs during the Viet Nam War.
Status: Multiple:
* During a 1972 trip to North Vietnam, Jane Fonda propagandized on behalf of the North Vietnamese government, declared that American POWs were being treated humanely and condemned U.S. soldiers as “war criminals” and later denounced them as liars for claiming they had been tortured: True.
* Jane Fonda handed over to their captors the slips of paper POWs pressed upon her: False
Just called that number, and let the operator know how pleased I was that they made the correct decision and kept that POS (kept it clean on the phone) off the air.
The operator seemed truly pleased that I called and said she would log the comment and make sure it was passed on to the proper person.
ESAD Hanoi Jane!
She’s an old, traitorous, Communist bitch, and there are still plenty of us around who will never let her forget it.
It really doesn't matter where. But I would be willing to donate quite a few inflated American Dollars to be among the first.
Just a thought, maybe plant the old bitch out in the desert, build a shelter around the grave and sell tickets. probably would bring in several millions.
Hell, the gubmint could make the grave site a National Monument and charge folks a dollar two ninety eight for a few moments alone there. Just Janie, you and your full bladder. Line the entrance with Sodypop and beer venders and and maybe pay off the national debt.
Hey, just a thought. Maybe a little out of the box, but.........
Fair enough ... Thanks for the info :-)
Well as the liberals like to say we shouldn’t have people on tv that are “divisive”. Nice to see they got their own medicine.
Jane Fonda demonstrates all of the aspects of a “child of privilege” who cannot understand that actions have consequences. I am sure that she got a real high out of showing her courage in defying the morality and the military while never overtly paying a price.
On this subject, I will admit to having respect for at least one of the Vietnam Anti-war protestors, Joan Baez. After the reunification of Vietnam under Ho Chi Minh, she came forward to protest it’s human rights violations. In 1979 she helped organize and fund a full-page advertisement in the NY Times, Washington Post and LA Times in which the communists (Vietnam & Cambodia) were described as having created a nightmare.
Jane Fonda quickly responded to say she was unable to substantiate the “claims” Baez made regarding the atrocities being committed by the Cambodian Khmer Rouge. I don’t remember her commenting any further as the “Killing Fields” of Cambodia became more well known as a provable fact.
It was not your ‘opposition to the vietnam war’
It was GOING TO VIETNAM and SITTING ON AN ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUN PRETENDING TO SHOOT DOWN OUR OWN TROOPS
Jane’s problem isn’t that she opposed the war. Many honorable Americans did - just like the mess over in the sandbox with Haji. Jane’s fundamental problem is that she is a traitor and gave comfort and aid to the enemies of America during a time of armed conflict. Her efforts contributed to the death and torture of fellow Americans.
Jane should be prosecuted under the Sedition Act.
Oh.. and how about ACCEPTING A SECRET NOTE FROM AN AMERICAN PRISONER OF WAR, AND THEN HANDING IT TO THEIR CAPTORS
We all do or say wrong things: sometimes they are mistakes, sometimes deliberate. An adult of good character, when advised of their wrong doing, seeks to verify the truth and, if truly in the wrong, assumes the responsibility for that action and the consequences thereof. They then seek to set things right.
Thank you for letting us know that in this matter, Joan Baez was a responsible adult of good character. Jane Fonda is still a child of privilege.
While (hopefully) they are not of as grievous a nature, I am grateful that my sins of omission and commission have not been as public as Fonda’s. I am eternally grateful that they have been eternally forgiven.
“I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us.”
Still lying after all these years?
There are brave men, living and dead, who would disagree, and who remember the part you played.
Shame on you, you unpatriotic cu[the remainder of this response has been self-censored, in the interest of decency.]
What do you mean by “penultimate” capitalist organization? Penultimate means second to the last, like the letter “Y” is second to the last in the alphabet. ????
To bad she wasn't outside in a thunder storm when she said this.
5.56mm
Then what is this? Are those North Vietnamese Army troops behind her?
YES, THEY ARE!
