I can hardly wait for BO to start selecting the new renters

Yeah, we all know how well government giving private property away worked in Zimbabwe.

After they have been empty for a month all the plumbing and wiring is gone and they are no longer habitable.

It may not even take that long once BO's people are allowed to occupy them.

Sounds like another waste of tax payer money to me. Where in the Constitution does it say the Federal government should be renting homes?

They should be forced to SELL THESE HOMES to private investors and take what the market will give them. The sooner the better.
They need to give a home buyer tax credit to clear this up.
The Federal Gov’t getting into property management and real estate... Dang they never learn anything..ever!!

If the country continues down the path of "us vs them", how long will it be until you can't own your home?

Americans that have mortgages will have them assumed by the gub'mint and then pay rent to the gub'mint.

Keeps certain people safe as they outright own their property and feeds the hungry Leftist that always push the "property is theft" cr@p.

As a bonus, the property owner (gub'mint) now has a great interest in what the renter is doing in/on that property. Can you imagine what regulations would come out of that?

Sounds crazy but who would've thought that the gub'mint would seize control of your right to manage your health ?

Racist

When I lived in FL, HUD put a family in the street behind us. You know the plan, they will somehow become middle class and responsible via osmosis, while at the same time collecting welfare and getting periodically arrested. Damn near ruined the entire street. After numerous visits by the police in the middle of the night to try and keep the noise etc down, the charges of racism were used. Eventually, even the race card no longer worked. But it was a year of HELL for the working taxpayers that lived on the street.

The gov't. WON'T force them to rent. Zer0 will use taxpayer $$$ to buy the homes and then rent them at lower than prervailing rates to those he deems worthy of this wealth re-distribution.

And they'll screw the local government out of the property taxes they'd be getting if the homes were sold to private citizens.

You know what they will wind up doing.

They will rent the home to another bozo who can’t afford the rent in the name of affordable housing for the poor.

Instant slums coming to a neighborhood near you soon.

PLUS, the gov't will pay the price ON THE BOOKS for these homes, not the lesser, true value of these homes.

High end section 8 for the banks. More often than not the rented homes will be destroyed.

You mean the term “public housing” doesn’t have success associated with it?

Just guessing that the renters will be “underprivileged” and/or minority. Maybe even “undocumented”. They will rent the houses basically for free. Maybe the Gov will even throw in utility payments—or at least shake down the utilities to offer free service.

I’m sure that will do wonders for home values in the affected neighborhoods. [/s]

This is how Osama Bin Laden finds housing.

Open up or release all the felons from prison, disperse them into communities with forclosed homes with government paid rents, and come election time you have some very effective community organizers in the streets.
