Teen Kills Possible Chupacabra
KCTV ^ | Jul 27, 2011

A Texas teen is claiming he shot and killed a real live chupacabra, but many biologists suspect the hairless animals are in fact sick coyotes or another wild animal.

Across an open field in Texas, Carter Pope spotted a strange animal.

"It just walked across and started shaking, slowly moving across," Pope said. "No hair on it at all, the back legs were shriveled up, and I honestly think it was a chupacabra."

Pope said he ran to his parents' room to wake up his dad to come see what he had discovered.

"I thought, 'I'm dreaming or this kid is crazy, but probably a little bit of both,'" Pope's father Will said.

Will said when he came outside with his son, he was amazed by the creature.

The animal was about 200 feet away when Pope fired three shots before the animal stopped moving.

Stories of alleged chupacabra sightings have been around for years, and pictures have surfaced on the internet.

Some believe a chupacabra is an animal that sucks the blood of livestock. It's reportedly a strange looking creature with barely any hair.

For many, it is a thing of legends. Some wildlife biologists believe it is a sick wild animal.

"I can believe it either way, it looks like nothing I have personally seen before," Will said.

Carter took hair and skin samples to get tested to put an end to the mystery once and for all.

Where are the grainy, out-of-focus pictures?

This thread is worthless without grainy out-of-focus pictures.

For some reason, I’m thinking it’s not going to come back as chupacabra DNA.

I caught this in a #2 coil spring. I was trapping for coon's but this thing turned up in the trap. I tried to release it but it has at me something horrible, it walked on two legs. My buddy held it down with a leather jacket he had on at the time and when released it ran off down a trail about 75ft, stopped, and and vomited something that smelled horrible, then let off a horrible screech, and ran off into the distance. I'll never forget it ...

I saw a recent news report where they’ve exposed the Chupacabra as a dog/coyote hybrid...

Yes.

But with the high pixel counts and self-steadying modes available on today’s digital cameras there is great concern that sooner or later someone will accidently shoot a clear picture of a legendary animal.

That’s why congress recently passed a little known law which mandates that all digital cameras manufactured after December 31, 2011 shall include a ‘Mythical Creature’ setting which will automatically blur photographs and reduces their sharpness. A separate section of that same federal law REQUIRES that the ‘Mythical Creature’ setting be be used my anyone who is photgraphing a Sasquach, Nessie, Jersey Devil, Chupacabra, UFO, etc. Large fines, or even prison time, can be imposed on anyone who tries to pass off a sharp, clear photo of any ‘mythical creature’ as real.

I guess they figure if the ‘tin-foil hat’ folks don’t have their searches for chupacabras and yetis and such to keep them busy they might notice all the horrible things our government is up to.

;-)

You trapped my cousin Eugene. He ain't quite right, but he's usually not violent or dangerous.

He went missing a while back, and we'd all pretty much given up all hope of finding him. If you happen to trap him again, will you cage him up and ship him back to me. I'll pay the shipping costs, plus a little extra for your trouble. Or if you'd rather, i can come get him.

If you're looking for something to bait your trap with, his favorite food is home-made Rainbow Trout flavored pudding (he won't eat t the store-bought stuff). I can send you the recipe if you like. Of course, he's also pretty fond of raw, skinless chicken breasts that have been marinated in kerosene and, of course, kimchi.

There is a reason why the term “mangy coyote” came into existence.
