The longtime host of "Grandy & Andy" on Washington, DC's WMAL-AM (630) left the news/talk station in March 2010, ending his 25-year partnership with former Iowa Rep. Fred Grandy after the station decided to go in a different direction in mornings. Parks, a well-known airborne traffic reporter before becoming the morning show co-host, has been off the air since his departure from the Citadel-owned station. Parks will now be heading across town in the Nation's Capital, joining WTNT-AM (730) for afternoon drive, becoming the host of his own show that will include Washington Times Columnists Jeff Kuhner and Jennifer Harper. The show will be broadcast from the newsroom of The Washington Times and produced by The Times. Parks will also be broadcast on Warrenton, Virginia's WKDL-AM (1250). WMAL list of releases -
Michael Graham- Chris Core- Andy Parks- Fred Grandy
I remember Michael Graham on WTNT, but could be wrong. He and Fred Grandy were both dropped due to their vocal views on radical Islam.
So, Andy Parks will be filling the slot where WTNT currently pipes in a delayed broadcast of Dennis Miller.
Heeee’s baaaaa-aaaaaack!!!
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
630 WMAL PING
I miss ol’ Andy and his bus. Glad to see that he’s finally landed somewhere.
Great news! When Andy got canned from WMAL I switched over to WTNT. Now I can catch him in the afternoon drive-home.
Chris Core is now on WTOP News Radio. He has a segment called “Core Values”.
Wonder if they’ll let Andy play his hit single “Drivin’ a Big Truck”...
Doubt it.
That Washington Times radio crew is pretty strict and stiff.
