It is not only CNN that is covering these non-news events. All of the news shows are either covering the non-news events or are creating them. Two weeks of stories about miners trapped in Chile, two weeks about the earthquakes in Japan (then nothing), several days about some idiots camping out in the polar region and getting eaten by a nearly extinct polar bear, several days about idiots in a leadership camp getting eaten by a not nearly extinct grizzly bear, etc. It seems there job is to distract the public from the reality of a crashing society.
