Domain doesn’t expire until 2012. Possibly just took it down and temporarily redirected through their host for maintenance?

More than likely hacked and brought down by political opponents to conservatism. Can’t win with rational argument, so silence the opposition.
This is probably their hosting company intercepting the traffic so that whatever cr*p has been posted by the hackers doesn’t display.
