can't link to it, cause I get my data from bloomberg, and that would send FR into double-lockdown mode. But...

Thanks. And I see I was wrong on my recollection of the purchase price. About $280 in 1999. Adjusting for inflation using some internet calculator thingy it would be about $380 now.
Still good.
Although if in 10 years and the price is back down to $800 an ounce, I’ll be kicking myself for not selling now. (Well - probably not. It’s insurance, not an investment).

I’ll be thanking God that somehow things got turned around enough to warrant the low price again. Unless of course Obama pulls a number out of his butt and sets the price of gold like Nixon(?) and FDR(?) did.

you might wanna adjust that for inflation. that was a long time ago. But, then, that's the whole point of buying gold, isn't it.

Where do you find that never-ending optimism? All I can think of is “The Postman”, “The Road”, “The Book of Eli”, or “Mad Max”, concerning our future...
If they’d take Gentiles, I’d consider moving to Israel on the border of the West Bank or Gaza, where it’s safe and stable.
