LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Warrants have been issued and rewards are being offered in connection with three cases of animal cruelty in Louisville.

All three cases happened this month. The only connection is that each involves what the director of Metro Animal Services calls "heinous" abuses.

Kelly Stice, 30, is wanted on three felony warrants for animal cruelty.

On Aug. 19, officers found three dead dogs locked inside a home on Manslick Road where Metro Animal Services said Stice lived until a month and a half ago.

"They had been dead for a long period of time," said MAS Director Justin Scally.

Twelve days later, on the tracks by Shepherdsville Road, officers found a pit bull screaming in pain. They said the dog had been severely tortured and set on fire, and had to be put down.

"This is considered an animal torture case," Scally said.

Just two days later, on Greenwood Avenue, officers found Autumn, a beagle with a collar duct-taped and deeply embedded in her skin.

"I don't know what the reason was for the embedded collar," Scally said.

Autumn still has the stitches on her neck from a surgery that saved her life. In the three cruelty cases, Autumn was the only dog to survive.

who ever did this is a bastard, but I have to wonder if all the cases of human crime misery have been taken care of before spending money and resources on these cases.

People before animals, it is good to enlist the public in this search, but I hope they aren’t going overboard on this stuff even though it touches my heart as well.

Well said, I’ve been saying the same thing for years. It looks like one is far more assured of swift and severe punishment for abusing an animal than, say, a child.

I wish they had gone into greater detail about the Kelly Stice thing. How is it that she is not a missing person case? Does the house look like she had moved out and deliberately left the dogs to die? Or has she simply disappeared?

I see more articles on child abuse than animals and I see more amber alerts than lost dog notices......

I also see more rewards being offered for crimes against individuals than animals so forgive me if I find your complaint unfounded........

Would it make you happy if these animal cruelty threads were banned? What the heck, who needs to hear about animals anyway...........

Let the punishment fit the crime. Precisely and down to the smallest detail.

I was actually going to watch it, even though I didn't want to. I have pets, and this sickens me. But, I clicked on it.

And then.........the Commercial came on.....like all these other videos on the net, and I closed it.

I am "commercialed" to death.

As for the animals, may God give them comfort.

After seeing the graphic post yesterday of the aborted babies who had been chopped into pieces, and knowing that the people responsible are walking around breathing air without even the possibility of going to prison, I find myself agreeing with you.

Wrong. If you'd spend a few minutes on google you'd see how easy most of these people get off if they're even caught.

Anyone who would torture and torment God’s animal creation has a very high risk and likelihood of “graduating” to his fellow man when the thrill of tormenting weaker animals is gone.

EXACTLY. It’s just the usual “Why isn’t this thread about humans” crowd crashing an animal thread. Nothing new to see. I’m THRILLED that a reward is being offered to catch these vermin and I hope they are.

dila813, not to sound rude- but people do a lot more about children than animals, in some states, parents go to jail if their child is merely truantly absent from school.
And so many animals get stuck in dumpsters, abused or even die of neglect and those animals never find justice.
