LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Two people have been charged with burglary after police said they stole property but later returned it because they felt bad.
According to arrest records, 24-year-old Eugene Carrier Jr. admitted to police that he unlawfully entered a home on Driftwood Drive and stole property.
Police said 21-year-old Katherine Hunt waited outside.
Carrier gave the stolen items to Hunt and they drove away together, police said.
Hunt said that a few days later, they returned the stolen items to the victim because they felt bad about what they had done, according to arrest records.

Interesting. I hope they receive some leniency for at least trying to do the right thing after the fact.
Well, I hope they get cut a little slack. Let’s punish evil, not stupidity.
So they arrested them after they returned the stolen items?
Police are far worse than they are.
I would hope the courts would be lenient with these two. They have what most crooks do not have and that is a conscience.
“So, what are you in for?”
“Returning stolen property.”
What were the police supposed to do?
Doing the right thing AFTER they commited the wrong does not excuse them from punishment.
I don’t know about where they’re on trial, but around here, they could bet on 2 years probation, 6 months intensive.
Track down and beat the crap out of some of the low-lifes that have not returned my stuff...that would be a good start.
I’m wondering if the residents could refuse to press charges or if they asked for leniency (since they were the victims of the crime). Obviously, these two have a conscience and their guilt made them try to “right a wrong”.
I hope they only get parole and community service.
It’s too bad the owner wasn’t home to shoot the both of them.
Well, if they had been shot dead, those two would not have had a chance to redeem themselves and the owner, regardless of how justified he was, would likely have had to live the rest of his life haunted by the faces of the people he had killed, so all in all, I think this was a good result all round, personally...
Should have mailed the stuff back.
That sounds good to me (without knowing th full details of the case).
