(Reuters) - American football fans can rest easy: President Barack Obama's nationally televised jobs speech to Congress will not conflict with the season-opening NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints.
Obama agreed late on Wednesday to move his jobs address to a joint session of Congress back by a night from September 7 to September 8 to avoid overlapping with a debate by Republican presidential candidates on the first night.

Most of the left coast, including me, will still be working and won't have to listen to his drivel!
bump.
Lets see.. nails on a chalk board, pre-game football, or zero..
Get the chalkboard!
Anyone who watches both the speech and the game will no doubt remember only the game the next morning. They’ll probably start channel surfing waiting for Obozo to wrap up his act.
Why does Barry need to do this show during prime time anyway? There are plenty of “paid programming” hours that are open between 1:00 a.m to 5:00 a.m.
Exactly, when many 0bama voters are up, waiting for their welfare check to come.
Does this mean the prima donna has to be on time for once?
Bingo! You nailed it!
Maybe, he may sign an executive order, though, moving the kick-off to 8:00 p.m....
Pubs should show respect to the President—— when he enters, give him a 45 minute standing ovation.
Lol! Don’t give him ideas. Boehner’s got him in a mega-snit already; there’s no telling what he’ll do to retaliate.
Again even though 7 pm is rather convenient for us east coasters, looks like next Thursday at 7 pm will be the time to clean the cat box.

So... there will be no GOP response?
I would *love* for him to be late. Especially if he got extra wordy, ran through his allotted time and stepped on the start of the game. He'd raise the national Obamameter from 'generally disliked buffoon' to 'goddamned idiot' among the entire population of independents.
No response necessary, no one will be watching; but then again, maybe a Boehner Half-Time crying Show???
lol
If I were a betting person, I would NOT put my $ on him (1) being on time, or (2) staying within his allotted time-slot.
Otoh, Axelrod is just panicked enough to kick Little Barry into shape. A popular pres can get away with things a Stuttering Clusterpuck of a Miserable Failure cannot.
I would just have someone come on and say, “Enjoy the FOOTBALL game. At least some people are working.”
