I hate to tell this guy but a photo even if it is not just another blobsquatch, but a very sharp picture where you can count the hairs is Not Proof. Anything can be photo-shopped today, and even images overlaid in cellphone videos. Today you can get realistic UFOs overlaid on cell phone videos that are very convincing. They could do the same with a squatch. Proof is a body, live or dead.

I don't think you realize how big the west is, and how unpopulated.

They have the intellect to bury their dead; after all, no bones of these elusive creatures have ever been found? PLEASE!

I have been in the Rockies (actively in the back country) most of my life. I have never seen the bones of a cat, or a wolf, and only twice found the bones of a bear... While deer and elk bones can occasionally be found, even that is fairly rare - Porcupines eat the bones unless they are not found until the bones are dried out. A lack of bones in the mountains means nothing.

The “no bones” argument is not a good argument for defending their nonexistence. Here in Washington we have a black bear population of 30,000 or more. But you are not going to find bones of a naturally killed bear. There has even been a challenge to find bear bones by the director of physical anthropology at Washington State University. None has been brought back to him. Now if there was 1 Bigfoot for every 100 bears, what kind of odds do you think that would be if running into bigfoot bones? We also have a small population of Grizzly Bears supposedly moving back into the Okanogon’s. Yet other than one cell phone photo no other evidence exist that the Grizzly’s are back.

Although I don’t hunt bear, I hunt in bear country and am familiar with bear bones. They do die, after all.

Also, the soil here is extremely acidic due to the evergreen trees. Bones in the wild simply do not last that long.

I’ve dug up like small bones and skulls from small animals doing gardening in my backyard (which 20 years ago was second growth forest) and ALL bones you find are in an advanced state of decomposition.

Here’s what Buffalo Bill Cody said in his autobiography:

“AN INTERESTING INDIAN TRADITION
While we were in the sand hills, scouting the Niobrara country, the Pawnee Indians brought into camp, one night, some very large bones, one of which a surgeon of the expedition pronounced to be the thigh bone of a human being. The Indians claimed that the bones they had found were those of a person belonging to a race of people who a long time ago lived in this country: That there was once a race of men on the earth whose size was about three times that of an ordinary man, and they were so swift and powerful that they could run alongside of a buffalo, and taking the animal in one arm could tear off a leg and eat the meat as they walked. These giants denied the existence of a Great Spirit, and when they heard the thunder or saw the lightning they laughed at it and said they were greater than either. This so displeased the Great Spirit that he caused a great rain storm to come, and the water kept rising higher and higher so that it drove those proud and conceited giants from the low grounds to the hills, and thence to the mountains, but at last even the mountain tops were submerged, and then those mamnoth men were all drowned. After the flood had subsided, the Great Spirit came to the conclusion that he had made man too large and powerful, and that he would therefore correct the mistake by creating a race of men of smaller size and less strength. This is the reason, say the Indians, that modern men are small and not like the giants of old, and they claim that this story is a matter of Indian history, which has been handed down among them from time immemorial.”

I’m from British Columbia, originally from Saskatchewan now in America. The Pac Northwest territory is huge and driven through it so many times in the past 20 years, even since high school, but just like the Cascades, I heck always pray that I don’t get stuck close to the forest at night. Sometimes your eyes just play tricks on you late at night.

I live in the cascade foothills of western Washington for 30 years.

Never saw a bear in the wild. Done all kinds of fishing and hiking, spent multiple weekends at White River campground on Mt. Rainier, which for all intents and purposes is the bears Cabo San Lucas.

Seen their tracks plenty of times, but never saw one during the daylight.

Tracks, seems to me, are very credible evidence of something.

I have lived in the deep back woods for whole seasons. Not as well traveled as you, But I have been all over this particular part of MT...

Although I don’t hunt bear, I hunt in bear country and am familiar with bear bones. They do die, after all.

I didn't say they aren't there - just very rare. A viable Sasquatch population is likely to be far smaller than the bear population - even smaller than Griz alone among the bear pop. Therefore, just by the statistics, finding Sasquatch remains would be infinitely less likely... And finding bear or wolf, or even moose is not something that happens often at all.

Believe what you want - I don't need to be convinced. I had my own episode 4 days back in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and have also cut sign on more than one occasion. I know they are there.

All the posts about never having seen a grizzly, or a black bear, or a wolf, or a cougar or the bones of such animals, etc. would all be very interesting, except for the fact that we have LIVE SPECIMENS of these animals in zoos all over the world. Not much doubt they exist.

Where is the live specimen of the bigfoot? (not withstanding the example currently stomping around in the white hut).

Do you believe there are creatures on the planet yet to be identified?

There is a species of bacteria that live in the oceans. It is called Prochlorococcus.
It is kinda small.
It wasn’t even discovered until about 1968.

Which is odd, because by most estimates, it is by far the most numerous living thing on planet Earth.

Now I would admit the odds seem against bigfoot. Even if they find no bones, by now you would thing they might have found a tooth.

But I’ve seen motion adjusted computer enhanced copies of the Patterson film and I can say two things: It is OBVIOUSLY a female creature and there is NO WAY it could be a human in a suit.

Who knows? You night be talking population density figures that are so low they are borderline-extinct. Three or four individuals per hundred square miles... who knows?

And remember... modern humans arrived in North America what, 10 or 12 thousand years ago? And not in very large numbers at first.

It’s possible, if bigfoot is smarter than your average bear, that he realized or sensed at that time that he was outnumbered/outgunned and retreated.

Did what the neanderthals failed to do - managed to almost fade away into legend and obscurity.

This Calgary Sun story has the photo.

http://www.calgarysun.com/2011/08/29/platt-bigfoot-boom-in-banff

Unfortunately, Todd Standing has credibility issues, and even squatchers are leary of his claims. He’s made some pretty outragious claims and released video and photos that are pretty suspect. I’ll admit this creature looks more realistic than his earlier photos and videos, but without seeing movement or getting an idea of size, I’m not falling for it so easy.

http://www.calgarysun.com/2011/08/29/platt-bigfoot-boom-in-banff

Here’s a video of his other creature which looks like a cross between a wookie and an ewok. That’s Standing’s biggest problem. No two photos or videos fo the creatures really look the same.

Even more interesting are reports of the Mountain Gorilla in the late 19th century that were discounted by most Western zoologists even though the natives spoke of the creatures. The lowland gorilla had been known about for a long time, but the mountain gorilla was considered myth. No bones had been found, they were extremely shy, and any specimens were discarded as fakes or exaggerated lowland gorillas. Until a big family of mountain gorillas were 'discovered' and it stepped out of the shadow of myth.

Also in Africa were stories of elephants that live in forests (the forest elephant). The more common African Savannah elephant was know n for centuries, but stories of elephants in forests were taken by zoologists as impossible (the natives must have been high). What they didn't know is that elephants have a very soft pad under their feet, and can veritably walk in undergrowth while making very little noise. It is almost eerie.

Anyways, Sasquatch is probably imagination only. However lack of photographic evidence or bones is not proof positive 'something' is not there. It is extremely hard to find the remains of wild animals in any wilderness. Even a domestic cat (unless immediately killed by a car) will not normally be found.

Here is a Bigfoot research web site that is calling Todd Standing’s photo a FAKE. Once you’re tainted, by hoaxing or hoaxy type behavior like Todd Standing has, you’re through. Just like Tom Biscardi who tried to pass off that Bigfoot body a few years ago. Yet radio shows like Coast to Coast keep inviting these guys on.
