We lionize "entertainers" who, in the grand scheme of things are utterly unimportant,Good point.
Several centuries ago they called them "court jesters."
Now they practically hold court...

The round thing looks like a Kaposi’s Sarcoma.

Say what you want about this whack-job, he was born with a remarkable voice.

funny about FReepers. First to say “shut up and sing” to the lefties, first to start condemning their personal lives when they do.

I have that episode on VHS, but haven’t watched it in years.
Do tell?

For all his issues, and they were legendary, the man was simply one of the most talented musicians in the world.
Do I celebrate his lifestyle, no. Can I celebrate his music, oh yes.
And let’s not forget, that Freddie Murcury once sang opera with one of the best. It was one of his last shows and recordings before he died.

I attended the Freddie Mercury Memorial weekend celebration in Montreux, Switzerland this past weekend...great weekend of rocking out to Queen and Freddie songs, with some amazing live performers. Freddie is still much loved in Europe and the rest of the world (with many younger generation fans); in the US, not so much.

Considering how he used it and how he ended up, he probably would have been better off if he had been born without all that talent. Think about it. Was the ephemeral enjoyment of a few million people worth the destruction of a human being and the likely loss of his soul?

How anyone can look at Farrokh Bulsara's life and see anything but a tragedy is beyond me. This is not about condemning Bulsara's personal life. It's condemning those who glamorize him and make it more likely that others will follow his path.

Bought Queen II on 8 track when it came out. Played it almost to death. Some of it is still stuck in my head.

Bought Queen II on 8 track when it came out. Played it almost to death. As I recall that was not so hard to do with an 8-track.
To: rogue yam; tal hajus
Smack it real hard. It will jump to the next track.
