Never miss an opportunity to tell someone you care about that you love them. And always offer praise and encouragement when it is due. A kind person always strives to make everyone around them feel as comfortable and happy as possible. Our friends and loved ones can be lost to us suddenly, it's a horrific experience and one we all will face. You don't want to multiply the pain with regrets over things left unsaid.
This is the kind of wisdom I was raised on, I was so lucky... many people are not as lucky :-(
