Wall Street Protest Begins, With Demonstrators Blocked
New York Times Blog ^ | September 17, 2011 | COLIN MOYNIHAN

For months the protesters had planned to descend on Wall Street on a Saturday and occupy parts of it as an expression of anger over a financial system that they say favors the rich and powerful at the expense of ordinary citizens.

As it turned out, the demonstrators found much of their target off limits on Saturday as the city shut down sections of Wall Street near the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall well before their arrival.

Pay your fair share? Look at this economist’s take on Obama’s Buffett tax:

Funny.

You have to wonder how many of the demonstrators were “paying heir fair share”, versus the people they were taunting.

My money is on the people they were harassing.

Followers of the right-wing figure Lyndon LaRouche

Right-wind figure? I obviously need to read up on Lyndon LaRouche because my few interactions with his followers led me to believe they were a bunch of communists.

I never heard of him so I looked him up. “Political party Democratic (since 1979), U.S. Labor Party (until 1979)”.

That’s what they call right wing, lol.

Absolutely! They wussed out as well.

"A few minutes later about 15 people briefly sat down on a sidewalk on Broadway, leaning against a metal barricade that blocked access to Wall Street. For a moment things grew tense as officers converged and a police chief shoved a newspaper photographer from behind." (when the NYPD says move, you better do it quickly)

"After a police lieutenant used a megaphone to tell those sitting on the sidewalk that they were subject to arrest the protesters got up and marched south."

Haha!!

Wikipedia has a good entry on him:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyndon_LaRouche

He’s clearly a man of the left. He taught Marxist dialectic at some university in the ‘60s and sought to take over the SDS. I don’t know how the WSJ managed to mistake him for a right-wing figure.

The LaRouchies are the people that showed up at Tea Party protests carrying signs depicting Obama as Hitler. From that point on they were branded “right-wing.” What a crock.
