Must Read Book Debuts Tuesday!
My Wife ^ | 9/18/2011 | Me

Posted on 09/18/2011 2:18:18 PM PDT by garv

I"m begging the indulgence of my fellow freepers since I've been here a long time and this will be the first vanity I've ever posted.

My beautiful wife Amy is a writer and she has a new young adult novel coming out on Tuesday. The title is Cold Kiss and it's a hard cover issue from Harper Teen, Harper Collins young adult imprint.

Far be it from me to indulge in hyperbole, but this is the greatest novel ever written in human history.

My wife has published a number of books before, but not in the young adult genre which has been what she's always wanted to do. Anyone familiar with publishing can tell you that if you want to get paid you publish what you can, not what you necessarily want, but Cold Kiss is the fulfillment of a dream.

Cold Kiss has received outstanding reviews from Kirkus and Publishers Weekly, as well as a tremendous number of great reviews in the young adult and publishing blogosphere. A quick Google search will amply demonstrate.

The book is available now for pre-order at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and every other major outlet that sells books and it will be hitting the shelves on Tuesday including at Target.

Thanks for your patience with my shameless vanity and if you're a book lover please check out Cold Kiss and tell your family and friends.

Thanks.

So, you’ll be retiring then and sponging off the wife for the rest of your life? LOL!

J/K. Good on her. I’ll go check it out. It’s not about flippin’ VAMPIRES, is it? If so, all bets are off...

No, no vampires, but it does have a paranormal element. It’s really about love, loss and responsibility.

Check it out. In all honesty it’s a wonderful, emotional book and my wife is a fantastic writer.

We'll be the judge of that! :^)

Good luck!

Thanks man. I was trying to show some decorum and restrain myself, but I couldn’t have held out much longer.

It’s nice that your wife is a good writer, but it’s fantastic that you are such a sweet husband to announce to the world that her book is the best one ever written. She’s a blessed woman.

Thank you. That’s very kind. BTW, the paternal branch of her family is in West Virginia.

Just requested from the library. Charlotte-Mecklenburg is getting several copies. If I like it, I’ll leave it in the library-book closet, and my 13- and 14-year-old kids will read it.

It looks like something I would read, LOL!

Seriously, it looks like a great read and since I have a 13 year-old girl, it’s sure to be a hit!

Went to your wife’s amazon page.

http://www.amazon.com/Amy-Garvey/e/B001ILFO1K/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_0

Being in bone dry, everything’s dead or burned up Texas, the background on her pic (which appears to be taken on a porch)of green trees, plants, and grass made me envious.
We don’t have green here anymore.

I like the genre your wife writes in, even though I am no teen, so will check out her new book.
